Anything stronger then Preperation H?

I know this is kind of personal, but what out there works more effective then Preperation H for Hemmoroids? If I went to the Doctor, what would he prescribe? I like to avoid a $100 doctor visit, if I can.

I went to my doctor about this a few weeks ago. He sent me to a gastroenterologist. After having a flexible sigmoidoscopy he told me just to use Prep H and if it doesnt improve then the next step would be rubber band ligation. Hope this helps.

seriously though i recall reading that putting liberal amount of aloe vera lotion on them helps, it just reduces friction which irritates them. there is more friction than you think just moving around normally during daily activities

Yes keep them lubed. High fiber diet. Banding works for small hemmies. Surgery for the large ones if you want to get rid of them all together.

I was given hydrocortisone cream 1% or 2.5%. This may be worth trying. It was next to anusol in the butt ailse at the pharmacy.

This will sound stupid but it worked for me. Once they start, I sit on an ice pack basically a whole day. By the second day, they are nearly gone. After a second day on ice pack they are totally gone. Works for me with no creams at all.

You can order your own bloodwork for $50 ( Online blood testing lab tests, STD testing blood tests lab test by Private MD) and check your BP for free while your getting blood drawn. That may tell you why you are dealing with these symptoms....hemorrhoids can often a warning sign. Drugs should always be last resort....find out why first. Take care.

In the long run you better off going to the doctor and seeing if they can help..maybe even have them removed. I always like the Tuck medicated wipes that contained witch hazel...the generic brands work just as good.
Preperation H makes a soothing gel now that isnt greasy and as nasty as the original.
