What is everyones opinion on the body drag curl for biceps?

I have hit a wall in my progress on barbell curl and was thinking of swapping. Only problem is that I overanalyse and can't seem to get my head around not lifting a heavy weight in a full curling motion.

it's awesome, Vince Gironda was an advocate of this movement for it's isolation of the biceps. Don't worry so much about weight concentrate on the muscle working and you'll gain big time.

personally.....i think its a ladies exercise

don't hate me girls

Great for mass development of arms

Curious, what are u currently doing for biceps. Ever consider you might be over training?

Try them, heavier weight, 3 sets, maybe a finishing move higher reps 2 or 3 sets x20 once a week n see what happens.

Body drag curls are awesome. Also try Zottman curls and hammer curls to train the brachialis.

I'm a big non-believer in overtraining. I'm a big believer in under-training and under-eating. Hard work builds big biceps.

Doing Dc Training so it is just the one rest paused set. I am probably due a couple of weeks cruise though.

My other exercises are EZ preacher curls and incline dumbell curls.

Anyway I did the drag curls today. Much more of a burning feeling in the biceps as opposed to regular barbell curls. I finished with a static hold in the curl position as well though.

......you drunk??

Why would you say that? It was a tongue and cheek reference to an old song... I was implying that short people know very little about biomechanics because they never have to deal with it. Obviously I failed so...

...let me then just be blunt to you so you don't mistake my meaning.

You said "i think its a ladies exercise".

You don't know what you are talking about.

If your due for a cruise, make sure and stick to the DC protocol and take it. Muscle rest is just as important as banging out the weights. If it is the over all volume you are looking for, I think you will be pleased with the results, but like anything, eventually you will need to change it up for another movement.

Not at all Tenny. The statement you made "i think its a ladies exercise" was wrong. Simple as that.

The mistake I made was thinking you were half-way joking when you posted so I half-way jokingly responded.

Turns out you were actually serious.

Shallow? Is that what you meant to type?

Tenny I am only commenting on your statement concerning the "drag curl". I don't know you and I am not in a position to comment on your character.

Again the mistake I made was originally joking with you.

Drunk, shallow & "who are you again???" were comments you directed at me.

I dont have guys do the body drag curl the regular way most people do it

which is

with the barbell drag up and drag down

instead

i have guys curl it up with a little body english like the regular barbell or ez bar curl and then i have them lower it by bringing their elbows back and dragging it down their torso lightly till the arms are straight and then repeat.

Maybe Tenny is thinking of the regular way everyone does it.

I never thought of that, DC. I do them the way David Henry does them in the 2006 Road to the Olympia vid. No reason to do them any other way than that.

Honestly a movement Ive only used a few times. Felt a little awkard for me but maybe after reading this I will try again.

whats the difference between holding your upper arms at your sides

or holding them 4 inches back.....i dont get it, i think your overthinking it like a woman would.....i'm married, i know all about an overthinking woman

so.....just the simple fact that i have to explain myself makes you a shallow person and you did comment on me and my character by trying to say i was short or some stupid shit and stating that

"You don't know what you are talking about." when in fact i do very much from experience....NOT from how much i have read

so your whole post about me and my character "was wrong"

so i ask you.....do a search on "drag curl" and show me one pro bodybuilder or even amature bodybuilder doing these curls......there is none

all you'll find are WOMEN and wannabes

datbtru

you wanna sing me another song?????

love you sweetie

Because alot of guys with front delt problems and Bicipital tendinitis cannot do regular barbell curls on the negative portion.....but can with bodydrag curls
