u guys say bs i say its fair.

If ne of you got injured doing something at the gym cause the machine was not secured, and you got paralyzed i bet most of you would file a lawsuit and fairly enough. if someone makes a mistake they have to pay.

she used the machine in a way the machine was not intended or designed for. shes a personal trainer and should know the risks associated with using machines improperly. how this the cybex fault idk..i was say she is the negligent one but bc it was on the gyms property its their fault..

However you place blame, I wouldn't want to have gone through her ordeal for any amount of money. She was obviously into fitness, now she's in a wheel chair. How could that machine have fallen over?

I was doing a smith machine squat in the mid 90s in a gym. The whole thing fell over backwards while I was finishing a rep, bringing me with it. And I know I wasn't using much weight. The people working out and the people working at the gym just stared at me. I put the rack back up and that was it. No harm, no foul.

my gym doesnt secure any of their machines. I even remember the equipment maintanence guy telling one of the new girls working there to not put all your weight back on one of the leg machines becuase it could fall backwards. If I wasnt right there overhearing them I would have never known.

No 5'1", 110 lb woman should be able to tip over a 600 lb exercise machine! That is ridiculous and she absolutely should be compensated!
