Hey guys,

This year I'm triying new things, I always dropped cardio like 7-10 out of contest, but this year I'm doing like 5-6 contest almost in a row... I find that doing LOW intensity cardio 30-45 min everyday or even two sessions a day keep my getting leaner, not losing body mass, my legs recover fine training them like 7 days out and during the carb load I feel with more appetite and more sensible to insulin.

The most noticeable thing is my glutes got really shreddred by keeping cardio, my body fat is every week lower.

Do you guys keep cardio until last day precontest or drop it? do u think it's a myth like many others that u need to drop it soon?

Last week I even did 20 mins walking the day of the contest, feel great when carbing up again.

I love my cardio.... i'll do it up to the day prior... I don't NEED to.... I CHOOSE to... i'm ready at 2 weeks out.... just keeps me nice and tight as a drum..... I do EXACTLY what you posted 30-40min low intensity (be careful of those 2 a days tho)... that's what works for ME.... if its working for YOU don't change a thing...

I go for 2-3 walks of 20+ min a day all the way till before show as well. It’s not just physical but a mental release too...I also train (pump work) till DAY OF SHOW.

It helps me too as mental aid to relax and think about my things.

I fucking love it.

If it does not affect your load/condition and help your mind deal with stress, why not keep it until the last day?

Personally I would like to do it until Wednesday or Thursday before a show on Saturday.

I'm competing this Saturday and my coach had me pull cardio today, on Tuesday before the show. I agree with everyone above that I enjoy the cardio and it lets me clear my head. The cardio consisted of 35 mins AM fasted, and I've been doing a brisk walk outside.

We dropped HIIT cardio a few days ago, which was at 2 sessions/week.

Last week I did it even on the day of the contest since I was competing in the evening... I felt like more sensible to all nutrients... loading were perfect.

Legs recovery is just a myth I guess, if you are just walking it shouldn't affect condition on legs that are already well shrddred.

I agree, walking gently is not intense enough to affect muscle fibers, it's also something you've been doing for weeks of preparation at a higher intensity. I would not like to do bicycle or treadmill with inclination.

I stop on after Wed for a Saturday show. I still walk my dog every day but I stop doing step mill, which I use most often for cardio.

Over the last ten days I taper mine down n increase time posing.

By Tuesday / wed/Thursday/Friday pre a weekend sunday show I’m just ten min walk to gym 30 min posing n walk back in AM

Wed is last training

I may do light pump work Thursday or Friday pre load day n pose in pm.
