cardio

maybe im just a weird guy



but I feel like IFBB pros would be doing the type of cardio that is best for bodybuilding purposes, IE what is best to lose fat while optimally preserving lean tissue.


I don't know if ive ever seen an IFBB pro besides Kevin Levrone do more than a brisk walk for cardio..

HITT is Superior because 1,000,000 studies that tell you why if you research. Most pro bodybuilders are 250+ and dont exactly have the endurance to pull off HITT sessions. They rely more on perfect dieting, and high amounts of drugs.

I personally only do LISS right now since Im focusing on size. Up to 5x a week post workout. 20-30min. I do it more to stay healthy. I lean out well when my diet is on point.

I know, because studies are so useful to bodybuilding. :D

There are actually natural bodybuilders who don't do much HIIT either, if ever. If there is enough activity and enough of a caloric deficit because of activity and food cutting there will be fat loss.

Both are good.

One million studies is a lot.

I've done quite a bit of research. I actually have an MS in nutrition and exercise pays, an undergrad in nutrition, and am an RD. Much of the studies I read didn't teach me a damn thing I couldn't learn from people in the gym when it comes to getting in shape and stronger.

Correct. Same goes for many natties too.

I do HIIT sparingly because it's fun, stuff like hill sprints, fartlek drills (eg, jog for three lampposts, then sprint to one), or intervals on an Arc trainer in the gym. Nearly all of my LISS is jogging. I pretty much despise indoor cardio on machines. Handball in the summer time is where it's at on my off days.
