Keep eating 400g of protein per day and working out 6 days per week or you'll turn into a little runt like this guy. Not sure who it is (random pic).

A lot of people who trained in Mentzer's day said that even he built most of his size with a higher volume of training then he advocated, and if you read his heavy duty system from back then it is far more volume than he advocated in his later years. casey viator has gone on record saying that he snuck back into the gym during the "colorado experiment" and trained more so he would grow more, and that was still just muscle memory as he had already won the Mr America at age 19. Mentzer kept reducing his ideas on volume as he grew older. Im not saying the system didn't work, but HIS body in those pics was built built with more than once per week training. Not trying to start a war, just the facts. High volume does work fo rthose in an enhanced state, especially for mass. His program does build strength tho.
 
I'M GONNA GO OUT ON A MAJOR LIMB HERE AND SAY THAT MARSHALL IS A FAN OF MENTZER AND HIS PHYSIQUE/PHILOSOPHY.......
 
When I started lifting I loved reading Mentzers work and it was his type of workouts that inspired Dorian Yates. I use only one set per exercise to failure during my current workouts. A cross between DC and yates training. Its called "Big Bapper training".LOL but its working.

Im curious since you like Mentzer's theories and practices if you follow his advice? Maybe you've mentioned this somewhere, but I dont recall seeing it.

If I were you I would consider posting some articles or info that back your training and nutrition advice instead of posting garbage like this...

now to every one else here, lets not give this thread a second thought and just let it slip down the ladder.. ignoring him when he is obviosly starving for attention will hurt him much more than any thing you can post!

All of Mentzers work and studies revolve around naturally trained athletes, his is a program that looks to scientifically nailing down just what amount of exercise is needed to stimulate muscular development and the optimal amount of rest time. If you are on the juice, you may be wasting your time reading Mentzer because your recovery ability is 10 times better (but also wildly varies depending on cycles) than a natural athlete.
 
Marshall, as one who follows Mentzer's training, please now post your pic.

If one guy can do it, that could just be genetics, if two, it must be fact.

I have a couple questions for Marshall and then my take on all of his posts.

1. How old are you
2. How long have you been training

Most of your posts have a certain underlying theme to them....well at least to me that is. You either want to stir the pot with some off the wall comment that you know is going to create havoc amoung people who post on this board OR you want to somehow believe that there is a possibility that you can achieve some sort of super physique by pretty much doing what every normal person that lacks dedication to training and nutrition does. Its almost like making an excuse for not being dedicated by saying "Well Mike Mentzer did it that way so if I just follow what he says then I have a shot". I just feel its rather pointless to keep bringing up the same old topics. Its obvious lots of guys on this site have put on muscle using different eating and training plans and I'm pretty sure the old "if it aint broke dont fix it" rule applies for most of these guys. Maybe if you posted some pics of your progress using the principals you seem to like so much, your posts might hold more weight and I think less people would argue with you. But then again maybe thats what you want. Oh well...thats just my take.
