Cheat meal. How long does FAT stay in system?

I've always wondered how long a large amount of fat in one setting will stay in your system. For example occasionally i'll have a very large high fat cheat meal. Like a whole pizza, ice cream,etc.. Like 300gfat+. My ? is, if that fat is gonna stay in your body a long time, would it make sense to keep fat extra low the following day? Or is it not in you that long.

Are you asking how long it takes your body to process the excess fat?

Basically. Just wondering if keeping fat lower than normal the next day is benefitial if the fat from the meal before is so long acting.

what do you mean long acting? I have read conflicting recommendations on this one...Some people say do not restrict fats/calories others say do...

from my experience and from what popular experts in performance nutrition recommend...dont eat unless your hungry (within reason) and after a cheat day/meal go about your normal routine with nothing fancy or extreme.

Let me see if I can explain it better. Say you take in around 120fat per day. Then lets say you had a cheat meal one night that had like 300g fat in it. It seems to me like you will not need your daily 120g fat the following day b/c a good part of that 300g will be carried over to the following day.

interesting........

Can we get more members to way in on this topic......Just curious....I have had a cheat meal, then cut back next day, and it works for me.

Well it seems hgh and aas would play a major role in this as well if you were doing those. If not then I would say age would play a major factor since it depends on your metabolism right?:D

yes metabolism is a big factor, but you are referring to a "cheat" meal...the whole point of a cheat meal has to do with ramping up cals for a day and hopefully bumping the metabolism back up, which is usually slowed down a bit from lower cals...

120g fat on one day does not carry over to another day...if you cut the fat the next day then you havent accomplished anything with your re-feed.

like I said before keep it simple the following day and go back to your normal schedual

hows the rest of your diet set up fourtgen? Is that cheat meal used to replenish glycogen stores and restore leptin levels? Or is just for fun? I wouldnt bring fat a really low level aftewards regardless of the situation though...very important macro- epscially omega-3s

I should have been more specific. The cheat meal isnt for a refeed. Just a night when I really feel like a whole pizza or something. Im just basically wondering how long(approx) will it take for say 200-300g fat in one meal to be out of the system.

It takes about 24-72 hours for most people's digestive tract to
do its job on the food eaten...depends on the person, the food, the
person's state of health, medications they might be on, their
emotions, etc...but, on the whole 1-3 days will completely digest, or break
apart, the food.

You could drop the fats the next day in order to compensate for the prior day's pizza if you don't mind juggling like that. I personally only do it for the same day. Such as taking all the fats in during one meal as supposed to spreading though out the day. I usually don't involve other days.

Yah i've done this too. If I knew I was going to have something very high in fat at night i'd keep the fat low for the beginning of the day. Prob not the best thing to do but from time to time im sure its ok. I just like to try and take advantage of my cheat meals(not refeeds) so usually if I have something like a whole pizza and 1/4gallon ice cream at night ill take some vandyl and ala about 20min before and the next morning hit cardio for a bit longer than normal and keep fat about %50 lower that day. I dont change carbs the next day b/c the carbs probably have already digested but I feel the fat would have to take longer than a day to digest a full 200-300g in one meal. Again this is putting a bandaid on a bulletwound but its only ever now and then.
