One of the first bodybuilding books I ever bought and recently dug up in my "old stuff"was Arnold's "The Education of a Bodybuilder"

AHHHH memories, lol.I did that diet in 7th grade and started getting fat and my mom got mad because I was drinking all the milk:D

Also, why did he say in pumping iron when asked if he drinks a lot of milk ? "milk is for babies" ??? I have always wondered that? as he definately drank milk, unless a ghost writer wrote this book.

Thanks for posting.I also tried his workouts at the local YMCA and was overtrained.

Yeah, I did the same diet and ended up with a big gut myself. Of course, that's way back when I thought if I ate enough and trained enough, I would look like those guys on the magazine covers :D

I had mine autographed by him. My book had a different picture on the cover though. I asked him if he was going to compete again and he said "no". 3 years later he competed in the 1980 Olympia. It was my bible in my early teenage years.

i also did that diet...well, not exactly. I did the one in the "encyclopedia of bodybuilding"...which helped me gain a bunch of fat while i was overtraining myself with the mass gain exercise program, also found in the book.

funny the shit we try as we learn...and the shit i try now sometimes makes me laugh. I guess that's the process...

That hand out is priceless.

Interesting to see the moderate carb approach being advocated even in those days.

No disrespect to the great Arnold, but I'd cut out the middleman and get diet advice straight from Vince.

Just dug out my copy of Arnold's handouts
at the seminar I attended with him on February
21, 1976, held at the Leaning Tower YMCA in
Chicago, IL.

This is his "one year diet cycle". I also have
his "can't fail" super gain weight drink, "the total
gain weight plan", "can't fail" muscularity diet and
the "super muscularity diet" (only last 2-4 weeks
before major competition).

And have other stuff . . .

Hmmmm...... seems to be some things missing from the 'supplements' category. Like the d-bol tea and the decatest pudding.

He is and always will be "Da Man"!!

Arnold reads are always interesting...he was so genetically gifted he'd have done the same on 3-4 meals of fastfoods
