Customs, $%#@!

I’ve had a package from China sitting in customs since about 3 am on Saturday. In the past, all have sailed through within a few hours. What worries me is that the delivery date (UPS express) was rescheduled for Saturday, but now when I check status with tracking number there is NO delivery date listed. The package is still listed as “in transit.”

Given the delay, I think they're on to something. Time to clean house?

It's a good idea to clean house before ordering anything that customs might want to take a look at. Depending on the city, they could get a search warrant for the house without even bothering with the controlled delivery. Since it's UPS and I'm assuming being shipped to your house, you don't quite get the benefits a PO Box has in disassociating the package from your house. If you know it was detected by customs... it's a good idea to refuse it upon delivery and cut your losses.
