Metformin seized and destroyed at US customs

So I made a thread about 6 weeks ago stating that I had ordered some Telmisartin and Metformin from my go to ADC which I have used for years with no problems whatsoever. My order was fairly large and came in two packages.
The first pack went right through customs. The second pack which only had some Metformin got stuck.
I contacted ADC after 1 month of waiting and they agreed to reship the second pack.
Well today I get a letter in the mail from customs informing me they had confiscated and destroyed what they had deemed to be multiple packages and strengths of Metformin.
Literally WTF is this BS? Is Metformin illegal to import into the US?
Will my address have difficulty in the future receiving mail from India?
Never in a million years did I think this pack was seized, I figured it got lost or it would just show up on my doorstep one day.

It's a prescription medication. I'm sure they flagged your package, saw Metformin and found nothing regarding a legal prescription. Time to ship to a new address.

It happened to me before too twice but they just re-shipped it again and then it was fine. It usually isn't a problem but once in a while, the customs officer decides to be a terrible human being.

I don’t think so. Don’t stress. Especially because this is a personal amount of Metformin. You didn’t get a pack seized with 500 bottles of Test…

Seen it many times and not for metformin. Seizure letter and reship and always gets through. Obviously if they seized one pack it could happen again but it's not because you are on some watch list. Notwithstanding, having a 2nd address is always good and what I would recommend.

I deal with customs regularly for work. You're right, they absolutely do not. OP, you just got unlucky brother; write it off and move on.

Customs definitely has a database. I so happen to be in that database and have to deal with the DEA from time to time.

I don’t think for your level of things things though they flag your address. There is literally an insane amount of packages that come in every day and they don’t have the ability to check everything.

Sometimes though a customs check is extremely stupid too. Carriers like DHL will bring it in to their distribution center and quarantine it in an area that is roped off by a plastic chain. From there a customs agent will look at the list, documents and take a quick glance at the pile and sign off and then it’s on it was to you.

Why is it for metformin there aren't local options? Never understood why anti estrogens are more readily available than met.
