Meal 1 6 whole Omega-3 eggs
Meal 2 8oz chicken with 1/2 cup raw almonds
Meal 3 50g whey with 2 tablespoons all natural peanutbutter
Meal 4 8oz salmon with 1 cup asparagus with 1 tablespoon macadamia nut oil
Meal 5 50 g whey with 2 tablespoon PB
Meal 6 6 whole eggs

I started this diet yesterday. I have been starving all day. Is this normal? Will I lose muscle mass as well as fat since I am hungry at all times on this diet? Any suggestions? By the way I am 5'8" 203 lbs. Thanks!

i think its a Dave Palumbo diet and is always low in carbs

Thats exactly the way the diet is laid out in the other thread.

give it two or three more days, once your body hits ketosis and you start using ketones you'll lose the hunger, in fact you'll actually forget to eat.. ketosis is a funny thing. You're actually eating too much protein for a ketosis diet also. drop about 100 grams and add another 50 of fat for a true ketosis diet..based on some quick calculations I figure you're getting around 150 grams of fat give or take. keto diet should be roughly 30-40%protein and the rest fat.

don't forget anything past about 1gr/lb of LBM in protein will get converted to glucose via Gluconeogenesis and will hinder or may even bump you out of ketosis.. if that's your goal.. if you don't care about reaching keto status then keep eating the way you are and once your body produces ketones your hunger will go away.

I am runnning a 16 week cutter and looking to lean up a good bit? So will this diet do the trick or should I do something else?

a keto diet with a weekend carb up is the way to do it.. just like palumbo has it written out.

i would think you would have no choice but get lean on this diet. i can think of different ways to achieve it though without going as crazy as i would on this diet. are you extremely carb sensitive?

i think you would have to lose some muscle with no carbs. why not something more sensible like this.

1- 1/2 cup ( pre cooked) oatmeal, 6 egg whites, 1 banana

2- protein shake, fat free yogurt,

3- 6 slices turkey, 2 slices whole wheat bread

4- chicken breast, 1/2 cup oatmeal

5- protein shake, 1/2 cup almonds

6- 8 oz. lean red meat, 1 cup green beans, salad with vinegar

bedtime- protein shake, 1 tblspoon natural peanut butter.

i am sure someone will disagree, but i have leaned up on this diet before and i am sensitive to carbs.

I forgot to mention that you take in 300-500 grams of carbs on your last meal one day per weekend

i like that diet , but i'd be careful on the amount of protein taken in . too much protein turns into glucose . and it is possible that you could fall out of ketosis . but , i suggest , that you stick with it and see what it does to/for you . i would not do too much cardio , maybe 2 to 3 times / week , maybe 20 min. in am or post workout . if you are doing the diet correct , you will burn fat , as your body will rely on it , for energy . i don't think it is a great diet to gain strength or build muscle , but IMO , it is the best diet , to keep the most muscle while getting shredded .
if it were me , i'd lower the protein intake to about 1 g / kg LBM and up the fats , in some of the meals . you want to stay within your maintenance calorie intake . don't be afraid of the higher fat intake . you need it , or this diet won't work . i was hesitant , myself , but then i saw the results .

This diet works. Trust me. I used it many times as I stated before. But bro are you natural or useing gear? Im pretty sure everyone that Dave has useing this diet is on gear which helps with holding onto as much muscle as possible.

And you will be hungry at first intill your body gets used to it.

Ugh....

Ok. You started this diet, but I don't really think you know what your eating... I don't mean to sound harsh, but dude...why don't you do us all a favor and post the cals and protein/carb/fat %'s since your asking for advice cuz I'm not going to go calculate this shit to figure it out and get back to you. You know what I'm saying? Also, why did you start this diet? Fat loss? Are you prepping for a show? How many weeks out are you?

I'm sorry, I really don't mean to be a dick but this thread belongs in the beginner forum.

I posted a fat loss diet in the beginner forum that I feel is a much better diet and will spare more muscle if your dieting. You drop the fat slowly. Retain just about ALL your lean mass. You get two carb up meals throughout the week.
I've done diets like what you posted in the past and as a natural I lost as much muscle as fat!
So take a look at this.

Give the diet some time bro. If you follow it to the T it will work for you.

Change the last meal from 6 eggs to another whole meal i.e meal 1 or meal 4.

You should not be hungry. If you are still having hunger after changing out meal 6 add more fats; a little more fat.

Make sure you are taking in your EFA'S.

This is correct about adding more fat if you are still hungry BUT give it a few more days because everyone is still hungry on this diet the first week or so.

Also I forgot to add that I bought some protein powder (wont say which brand on the board tho) that only had like 1.5 grams of carbs and I would have a shake between meals if I was getting really hungry plus I would add some fats to it as well.

hey stumpy you also have to cut back on the weed smoking it give you the munchis bro:D J/K bro like said allready give it about 2 weeks and add little more fats and you be ok

are you serious about the 1g/kg of Lean body mass?

for a 200lbs competition weight, that would 90g of protein per day. I don't see how you could keep muscle with that little amount of protein. even 1g per pound of LBM seems too low.
