As a person who podcasts, what you see is “content,” as you suggested.
It’s hard on YT unless you have a lot of content. Plus, with guests, you have sometimes to sit back and let them do their thing. You, after all, bring them on to chat about the topic of discussion.

I just wanted to chime in on that part because the teasers and all that are to capture new audiences. You can see in video analytics that it’s hard to retain and grow without teasers.
