DC training. What about small parts/detal,etc..??

Ok so i've watched the video twice now. Im trying to disect it. I like the method and it makes sense and the big italian dude is funny as hell and reminds me of myself. Here is the only problem im having. It seems like you want to focus on heavy compound excersies like bench for chest, rows/pullups for back, military press for shoulders,etc... but what about doing stuff like flys,lateral raises,rear delts,leg extensions,etc.. I feel like my shoulders are gonna lose their caps if I eliminate lateral raises and rear delt flys,etc... so thats what im having trouble grasping?
 
fourthgen, and this is no disrespect but I would do some other form of training.....this is a read what Ive written kind of thing with the thought "I grasp what this guy is trying to do" and instead your trying to pick this up on the fly.

Just by the question, its just not for you....and my advice is stick with what your doing currently trainingwise.....that would be best.
 
it's a mass and strength building program designed to produce results in a relatively short amount of time,I'm sure you know that but my point is that there really isn't any room for finishing movements,unless you can really make some progress with them,like working up to buck and a quarter kickbacks.
 
^^^ I was just wondering. I thought it was a legit ?

the dvd is good to understand the physical concept because it is spoon fed, but you cleary have not put the time into reading the stickies to understand logical concept.

Yeah he is pretty awesome isn't he? I want to be just like him when I grow up....LOL......:D :p


On a serious note like Dante and Dave said I would just take a step back and read some of the stickies and understand the logic better. I think it will really help bring things together for you..

If you read and reread those stickies.....you will begin to have a whole new perspective on training. That's what happened to me.

(all things considered like diet etc).....GET STRONGER = GET BIGGER.
 
Ok thats where I had it wrong then. I didnt read shit, i just thought the video explained all so I was concerned why the topic of no hitting any isolated movements like mid/rear delts,etxtensions,etc... so maybe i'll get more info readin the stickies. Thanks guys.

I guess I just always thought you need to do "some" isolation excercises in order to grow in specific area's.
 
DC definitely takes an altered mindset you know? Like, what do you think will develop the biggest, baddest triceps, 35 lb kickbacks or a reverse or close grip bench at 350 lbs rest paused? if you are gonna train DC, be prepared to kick out much of what you previously held as true. Stick with big compound movements that you will become brutally strong at. But, DC does say that if you feel strongly about your ability to progress on an exercise, you can incorporate it, but really, how heavy are you going to be able to go on those iso movements 60, 70 80 lbs? even if you can do laterals at 100 lbs, is that gonna pack on slabs of muscle like a hammer strength shoulder press with 5 plates a side?

but you know, i might just take the advice of the guy who posted first on this thread, i think he prolly knows best ;)

Yah I agree. DC knows whats best. I dont think he meant I should never do dc, im thinking he meant I just havent researched it as much. I was just hoping so much I could get it all in the dvd lol but I also play the lotto. Looks like i gotta do some reading.
 
Man, if I had the time to DC (after 30 min on the crosstrainer, I only have about 20 min. for the weights). looks like great hard work.

for sure, study those stickies, search for posts by DC, In-Human, Homonunculus, Big Down Under, KidRok, and Skip, read read read, i dont even want to know how many hours i have spent just reading through old threads...knowlege really is the key
 
alan can I ask you why you do cardio first?

I am trying to lose weight and build my endurance up again. nothing worse than playing with the kids and every 10 minutes need to sit down and stave off a heart attack (it only feels that way, though).
I have really let myself go since the surgery.
