hey guys, im designing a small training facility. 22'-125'...was wondering what you guys have in your gyms or facilities that can help athletes. please add to the list with websites if possible. the athletes are mainly hockey players between the ages of 10-18 and college, semi pro, pro.

Equipment I will get...
Dumbells up to 150lbs
Kettelbells
squat cage.
adjustable benches
plyo boxes
agility ladder
2 treadmills
2bikes
medicine balls

22' is kinda skinny isn't it? anyways, get a slide board. mimics the skating motion. awesome for hockey players, speed skaters, or cross country skiers. also, an olympic platform with a full set of oly weights. if you can afford eleiko then get it. i'd lose the bikes. never found bikes to be good for training any athletes that don't compete riding them. glute ham machine is great for both hip extension and knee flexion training. i love it. you can have the athletes hold a plate and fight the negative on the way down then help then up for the concentric explosion. awesome for hamstring training.

yes it is skinny, the only down fall. however its very long good for plyos and mabye sprinting. an olympic platform would be great, i think i will keep at least one bike. good for leg warmups.

what do you mean by hip extension exercise...not a leg extension? ad and abductor machines?

well basically the hamstrings are a 2 joint muscle meaning they cross the knee joint and the hip joint so they flex the knee and extend the hip backwards. RDLs and goodmorning work hip extension and different variations of leg curls work knee flexion. The glute ham raise works both knee flexion and hip extension. Hamstrings also respond best to a slow eccentric concraction and second best to an explosive concentric concration. so you can have the athlete hold a plate acrosse their chest and slowly come down. Then have them pull up to parallel, pause, then explode the rest of the way up. You can assist them with the concentric part by putting your hand on the plate or their chest and pushing them up.

Here is a decent picture of it **broken link removed**

I'd add a glute/ham bench and a Reverse Hyper machine if you can afford them. Check www.elitefts.com for those. I have both in my home gym and consider them a must. The other stuff on your list is great too.

Cables, sledge.

No machines!

An assisted pull up and a leg press maybe

Do you really need 150 db?

Can those kids lift that much?
