I believe that during the Second World War when they
were experimenting with skin grafts, they found that if
tissue was taken from the buttocks or stomach for example
and grafted to other parts of the body like the face, the
tissue that was moved would store fat just like it did in
it's previous location. Not pretty to have patches of fat
on the back of your hand or on your face for instance.
I also believe that where you store fat is genetically pre-
determind and not subject to willful change. So while
liposuction is really the only way to remove fat cells,
they will return to the same location if you don't watch
your calories.
