I know I may get some bashing for this but I drink 2 gallons of water everyday but I always mix in Kool-Aid or Tang otherwise I wouldn't drink nearly that much water per day.

I can remember when I was in the Marines and when I was in training they made us drink a canteen every hour and I was constantly pissing. Now I noticed that when I drink water with Kool-Aid I don't piss nearly as much as when I drink the same amount of plain water per day. Yesterday I drank more than 2 gallons of water and was pissing every half hour.

The only conclusion that I can come up with is that the sugar is causing dehydration and/or making me hold more water.
 
Will make you hold glycogen for sure as will any carb unless glycogen stores are full which they arnt very often in a bodybuilder. Go carbless for a day and your be pissing like a race horse.

If I go carbless for a day I will eat more protein. If I'm eating all protein all day wouldn't I hold even more water because it takes more water and longer to digest protein?

No. Protein doesn't turn to glycogen. Either muscle, burnt as energy or stored as fat. That's the only 3 paths for protein to take. I've gained over 10 lb in a day from Carbing up before easy

Yes carb and sodium both cause water retention,not protein.
 
agreed....since ckd'ing i've gotten a huge awaking in regards to how much water carbs makes you hold.

Actually you have a point and because of this it can actually be converted to glycogen. One thing experience has taught me though is its not a lot and certainly not noticeable on scale next day as carbs are. Ill give you that one though, you had me on a technicality. I think the longer you go carbless the more inclined your body is to break some protein down for glycogen but I never go over a day as I fucking hate low carb with a passion.
