The article says they kept watch on him at all times. I think he never went. Its possible I suppose. Bet his health was really suffering though. I think the only way he would have cheated is if a guard or two were dirty and let him go without telling the higher ups.
He must not have eaten much at all, just enough to sustain. Here is a post that shows one guy went supposedly 13 years due to a medical condition and finally died. He must have gone some though.
Yeah it’s just that I’ve been incarcerated and it’s just not possible to watch someone ALL the time. I’ve seen guys on “24 hour watch” and the guard stood outside the closed curtain when they showered. Guards don’t shower with the dudes or stand there and watch them shower. Just saying there’s no such thing as truly being watched all the time the manpower doesn’t exist and guys on the inside are experts.
He would have been in to much pain to go that long anyway.
A friend of mine has had AIDS since the 90's, and though she's doing pretty good now thanks to more and more efficient meds, she still catches her share of illnesses and spends a lot of time in the hospital. One of the main side effects of her condition is constipation... but I mean really BAD constipation. This bad that a few times a year, after not being able to poop for a full week, her doc sends her directly in the hospital again in order for them to remove everything that's "trapped" in her intestines, for otherwise it could cause a serious case of blood poisoning, should the faeces somehow find their way out by perforating her colon.
So 42 days...
But hey, then again the body is such a magnificient machine, you never know what it's capable of...
Damn. I went over 2 weeks after I was gutshot. When I finally went it was like an out of body experience. All the painkillers that were sitting in my gut moved around where they could be absorbed, it was indescribable.
