Eating properly with a Job?

How do you all find the time to eat 8 meals a day and bulk when working a normal job?

I cannot see how it's possible unless you are working a desk job. If not, I just can't fathom how bulking can even be possible??

Any tips?

thanks

pack carry bag cooler with meals. eat every break. also have jug of protein and gallon of water for when pressed for time.

do you feel 8 meals is really necessary? 5-6 should be fine, go with 3-4meals and 2-3 shakes, if you cant fit that in your doing something wrong.

I don't think 8 meals are neccessary. In fact I think the whole idea of six meals was developed by supplement companys to move more product. When you eat a meal the stomach takes several hours to empty, metabolism won't increase or slow down if you didn't eat on a certain hour or vise versa. I could explain the pathways for those that really want to know..

You could easily get by on three meals per day, but eating smaller more frequent meals helps with hunger pangs and energy levels

i know alot of guys that work labor intensive jobs then answer is when they stop to smoke you eat

Pack a cooler and just eat.I have never had a desk job and always found time to eat.

im with edge, this should easily suffice

thanks all....

Not overly concerned with the number of meals but more of how you are allowed to stop what you are doing and eat so many times.

The job I am looking at taking allows only a break for lunch and that's it!

The other 10 hours of the day during work you barely enough time to use the bathroom..lol

Thanks again for all the replies :)

Great breakfast, between breakfast and lunch a meal replacement shake, then later lunch, before dinner meal replacer shake, then dinner. Thats five right there. Nothing however should ever replace good whole nutritional foods. But life aint perfect and so the meal replacers are high in protein and carbs, low in sugars(some) and is a well balanced meal. If you can do this often at work, then you could very easily sneak something else in during the day. Protein bar, apples or any fruit, a sandwich bag full of chopped up veggies to snack on. Also bring along some peanut butter in a little cup with a lid. It can stay out of the fridge all day long and you can use it to dip the fruit and veggies in, It makes for a awesome snack full of calories, good oils, protein and it gives you a nice full feeling. (do not do this with the natural peanut butter, they have to stay in the fridge)

Good luck brother!

I work in grocery stores throughout the city messing with the wine, so good quality food is always a couple steps away. :)

1. Meals refer to any time you are taking in food. A good quality shake counts as a mea.
2. You must plan ahead, and must "eat" every 2-1/2 to 3 1/2 hours to gain mass.
3. If you are in the usa, and are an hourly employee working an 8 hour shift, the law says you get 2 paid 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Minimum.

The answer to most questions about how people accomplish things is always similar. You JUST DO IT no matter what. You figure out a way.

ya 8 meals is not necessary, depending on your metabolism 5 whole food meals a post workout shake and maybe 1 other shake through out the day should be fine, I dont like the term "bulking diet" we are all in the pursuit of gaining muscle mass. I think bulking is an excuse to get fat, yes you will have to cosume more calories to gain muscle but not an extrodanary amount. I would really focus on the training and recovery aspect, compoud movments and no marathon workout sessions. You really shouldnt be in the gym for more than 60-70 min max in a workout, save yourself the extra calories and energy for building muscle.

What do you all think is the best meal replacement shake?

Thanks!

You can get by easy on 3 meals. How many calories and how much protein are you trying to get? I work a desk job now I may get flammed but the cheapest easiest way to get all my calories.

4 mcdonalds double cheeseburgers at 99cents a pop. Each one has 50grams protein and 500 calories. I read the mcd's nutrional guid. They go down easy.

Thats 2000 calories and 200 grams of protein slammed in under 10 minutes.

I even throw in 2 apple pies for desert. If I did that 3 times a day it would be 6000 calories and 600 grams protein. You do not need 8 meals a day.

Try 4 doubles for lunch tomorrow you will be surprised how easy they are to eat.

Then again if you want to be the obssesed weirdo with a jug of protein and a bunch of cardboard mrp bars be my guest.

So far today

7:30 am
2 chick fila breakfast sandwich(I do this almost every day)
11:00 am
4 doublke cheesburgers
2 apple pies
2 cokes
3pm
1 bag of beef jerky and chocolate milk
7pm
2 cookies and a 1lb tbone

You can save that supplement crap I like food

please correct me where I am wrong, but doesnt each double cheese burger have only 25g of protein and they are counting 4g protein from the bun???

Sodium 1140mg's
total fat 23 gm's  (defeats the purpose of staying in shape no?)

yep, i would say a very healthy choice there! :D

But look at the guy's avatar, if he looks like that from eating the way he does now it's not bad. Many people eat like this to gain weight. I don't know what the specs are on the Mcd's. But the problem I see for Vespa is no veggies. You need to get in some veggies and alittle bit of fruit like an apple pre workout. Don't say the apple pies either....lol
