How much (added)fat are you eating?

The only fat I add are omega3 pills for EPA and DHEA.

People can say whatever but the bodybuilders that eat no added fats are leaner than the one that add fats.
Look at Roman Fritz, Luki, Teaman...

On the other side.

Look at Jansen's guys, they all get fat in off-season.

I'm kind of where bboy is with respect of not pushing size anymore so carbs are much lower.
My base foods eaten every day......Meat and Seafood(80% come from Butcher Box and it varies month to month), low fat cottage cheese, skim fairlife, eggs, avocado, fruit, resistant starch bread for fiber. I toss in quest chips and jerky when in a rush

I just started adding rice on some days since coming out of an injurious state and training is getting intense again.

Who are all of Jansens guys, again?

Look at me at 64, leaner then lots of younger guys eating a higher fat intake, lol.

I will say it for the 100th time, you can not base one diet and think everyone will respond the same way. Doesn't work that way with all the different metabolism and body types.

Yes but you didn't take into account that you are constantly at or below zero kcal so macronutrients don't really matter in terms of body composition, but the situation changes when you spend most of the year in a calorie surplus then all the fats you consume are first and foremost stored as fat

Added fats?

Right now, 8g fishoil and 12g walnuts/almonds/nuts or 1 egg 5x a week. 15g walnuts/almonds/nuts, 5g fishoil and 1-2 eggs on the other 2 days.

This is what I was responding too. His statement, ( People can say whatever but the bodybuilders that eat no added fats are leaner than the one that add fats.) That is not true.

Now you are talking about calorie surplus. Doesn't matter if you eat nothing but carbs and protein all day, you will put on some fat. Take away all drugs out of the equation, which alters metabolism.

Healthy fats are an important part of a balanced diet. But excess fat consumption—even healthy fats—may lead to weight gain or obesity. Excessive calories puts on fat.

yes but proteins and carbs have to go through a long process to be stored as adipose tissue and fats do not so their excess is most easily stored

And yes I agree that healthy fats are necessary but if you are on gear you do not need anything more than 5-8g of epa/dhea additionally

Yes everyone is a snowflake.... jeez, are we not all humans?

Most people don’t need a lot of fat in their diet unless they have a fast metabolism. I’ve bulked up in the past by adding in a lot of dietary fats and it increased my body fat levels too much!!! Around 30-50 grams of fat per day is enough for most people. Those with higher caloric needs may have to consume 100 gram of fat per day or more after maxing out their carbs and protein intake. It’s a very individualistic thing.

Come back with something intelligent to say Jaxino. No wonder why guys give you shit on here.

I was going to say this exact same thing. I believe low fat really shines when in a surplus.

Carbs can be stored as glycogen (and fat of course, but requires a process that is much harder for the body to do than dietary fat). Protein is also a very long and complex process for the body to turn into body fat. People over fed with simply excess protein and resistance training practically never gain body fat. While excess dietary fat is stored as simply… body fat.

Mix in GH keeping us burning fat for fuel and very low fat diet and pushing protein and carbs seems ideal for staying lean in a surplus.

None of this goes against CICO. Weight gain is calories in calories out, but macros are important for body composition.

I think for maintenance and a deficit, a higher fat approach is more “realistic” though I would personally still do higher carbohydrate.

I simply cant wrap my head around tracking only direct protein/fats etc then counting only "added" fats. Like how the hell do you use a calorie tracking app? Ala Justin Harris style (bought his excel sheets).

I tried higher fats, lower carbs, and I just do not feel good (mentally/physically). So Dieting wise I keep fats low, < 40.

I personally never use any apps to track macronutrients - if you eat exactly the same meals every day, you don't have to count anything

Personally, I have to keep fats quite low because larger amounts spoil my appetite and digestion. But I recently saw Dorian Hamilton's minutes. there was nothing crazy there but fats were added to each meal in small amounts, 5-15g, even 10g of almond butter was added to the post-workout meal.

Interesting because you can't say anything to Luki.
When your argument falls you can't accept it and you are ready to shoot on me, with all your friends supporting you haha. You are like kids.

Years well invested man.
You are supposed to be wise at your age.

At least we are lucky to have people with real knowledge here, that doesn't think that everyone is s snowflake and has real experience.

He said to come back with something intelligent Jaxi, not that bumbling mess you call a reply. We get it, you learned a new word… snowflake, how many times are you going to use it? My question is, do you even bodybuild or are you here just to parrot Luki’s every word? The issue with that is, Luki knows what he’s talking about, you just think you do. LOL at Pizza15, tried to pull a fast one. 🤣

Well that is how dumb you really are. I didn't argue with Luki. It is called different opinions. He has his approach, I have mine. Both work for each other. I posted my pictures proving my diet works for me, where are yours?

As far as intelligence, I never stated I was the most intelligent here. I do know I got to a certain age and probably look better then 99% of the people at that age. I prove this many times. What is your rise to fame?

If you had any real knowledge like you claimed, you shut up and realize you making a fool of yourself at this point.
