REEDSVILLE — Two individuals face possible federal charges related to operation of a human growth hormone and prescription medication packaging lab, according to Lt. Mark D. Anderson of the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit. They are not in custody.
In a news release, Anderson said officers from the unit, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and the office of the U.S. Postal Inspector executed a federal warrant at a Mill Street residence Wednesday afternoon.
Anderson stated officers located two pill presses, two mills, washers, chemical dryers, two 55-gallon drums containing chemicals, suspected human growth hormone, and suspected generic forms of Viagra and Cialis.
Anderson stated a resident is alleged to have purchased bulk chemicals and drugs from China, then repackaged and sold the drugs via the Internet.
Anderson stated the basement, first floor, second floor and garage were used in the operation.
He stated the Reedsville Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Wisconsin State Crime Lab assisted officers at the scene. He stated the investigation was initiated after U. S. Customs intercepted chemicals.
Two people at the residence were detained and later released pending federal charges, Anderson stated.
