Hey guys,
I don't post much but I just felt like sharing the good news. A new hardcore gym opened up by my house and after visiting it, it basically had everythign I needed. More 45lb plates than I could count and lots of free weights, barbells, benches, and good machines for putting on size. Excellent!
So I went to Planet Fitness yesterday to cancel my contract. They asked me my reason for leaving and I told them "dumb bells only go up to 60, there are only 3 45lb plates in the whole gym, and you guys discriminate against bodybuilders. Anything else?" Man, that felt good, although I doubt the 160lb kid behind the desk was heart broken.
So I'm pretty damn excited now that I found a gym that has the hardcore equipment I need, but is also a very clean environment. I have a basic home gym as well, but I need to get out to really blast through set after set. I feel like the biggest thing that was holding back my gains was doing my heavy lifts in the home gym and my arms and isolation exercises at Planet Fitness (man, what a s***hole that was). Only thing I'll miss about Planet Fitness was the attention I got from the ladies, but this was probably more of a distraction than anything (although a nice distraction). So yes, I am celebrating and maybe I didn't need to post this but eh, what the hell! I am going to really put a focus on compound lifts and building solid mass throughout the entire winter season. Feel happy for me! haha
BTW, I never really introduced myself...
21 years old, 5'11.5, 227lbs, currently around 12% bodyfat (slight 6-pack visible in good lighting)
I love this forum and have been lurking and reading as much as possible for the past year. Thanks to all the guys who share their knowledge to help out dudes like me.
