I never train them really. I hit them for like 10 sets one day a couple of months ago, and I honestly don't remember when I last trained them before that.

Train them a little, strength in the abdominals is necessary to stabilize the shoulder and can lead to better pectoral development. Sounds crazy, but it's true. It took me 5 years to figure out my shoulder problems were from weak abdominals.
Grainy Abs! Love it! Doesn't look like much water there either... Man, once you dry out a bit and all those veins get popping, it is going to be insane!
