Just curious if anybody here has had their gyno removed? How long before you can lift again?

who performed procedure? plastic surgeon?

i dont have anything visible, but it hurts.

Had the procedure done back in 2000 by a plastic surgeon, I think it was 2,000$. Mine were cut out not sucked {lipo} which I think is the preferred method. Wish I would have done it sooner, mine were so bad that I literally wore bandaids when wearing a skin tight shirt.. The Dr told me to wait 4-6 weeks before training, I think I waited 3 before regulare training. also felt numb in the nipple area for some time.. Due your homework on a Dr, have seen some botched jobs that looked lumpy. thats about all I remember bro, hope it helps..

Most of the guys I know went back to the gym in 3 weeks but did nothing that effected the pec area for 6 weeks. depends on the surgery and surgeon.

Thanks for all of your help fellas. My gyno is so bad that I won't even wear tight shirts anymore. I wonder if my insurance would pay for it since it really is a medical problem?

Hi Bigwill I feel for ya mate Im going through something similar at the moment but the Docs here consider it Vanity and as such it isint covered under general insurance. The only way i found around it is to really play it up and say the pain is unbearable when you slept on your front and that your getting all depressed , its worked wonders for me. At the very least I got onto arimidex and nolvadex(from the Dr) untill the health system can confirm my surgery date.

Bigwill, 1st surgery in 1997 cost me 1200 for both sides but I new someone. Had it done again on one side in 2006 and it cost 1600. It was done by a plastic surgeon. I never really let it get too noticeable before having it removed. Always done under local anesthesia.

Thanks for the input bro. I believe that this really is making me depressed. I am really having a hard time with it. My girlfriend says that it isn't that bad, but I know that she is just being nice. I guess it's time to go see the Doc. Thanks again to everybody that posted their comments.

Wow, i didnt know getting gyno removed was that cheap. I thought it would be 3-4 thousand. Ive gyno my lumps are about the size of grapes or golfballs. Ive actually had them way before i started "my new lifestyle" inspirational read. lol

i just looked into it with the guy on md, dr blau and its $7100 for everything.

wow thats a lot more than everyone on here said they paid...probably the guy to go to if your situation is really bad though...mine is relatively minor but definitely something im going to take care of when i get some money set aside for it.

That's the high end, there's plenty of great docs out there that are way cheaper than that

mine was paid by insurance (i am from germany though).It was gland removal + lipo conturing and done under TIVA. Stiches have been removed today (9days after) and i am heading back into the gym this evening.

Will only do light cardio this week. Next week i will add legs and abs and the week after everything will be back to normal.

Overall i am very pleased with the result and would encourage everyone to get surgery done (even on minor "gynos" like mine if they are bothersome) asap (by a qualified plastic surgeon of course). You will feel much better afterwards.
other methods as AIs. local pgf2 injections, dieting etc wont help anyway.
