About two weeks ago I slipped and fell into the splits and pulled my hamstring. My whole leg turned purple and hurt all the time. Now it is getting better but I am really afraid to mess it up again. Any suggestions on how to ease back into leg training?

I injured my left hamstring a few months back.
Do extremely slow reps with lighter weight and slowly squeeze the muscle into the contraction. Don’t curl it up. Slowly squeeze it up. It’s taken a few months for me. Im finally at the weight i was using on seated leg curls but my reps are so much better with more control. It has actually helped me by teaching me to be patient with each rep and not explode on the contraction which is much easier than slowly squeezing the muscle.

yeah, slowly, lol, i popped a hammy about 10 years ago, it bled out and my leg was black from mid ham down thru calf, i had a very difficult time walking the first few days and had to call in sick for work, it took me about 3 months to get going again, once i did i just took it very slow with lite weights, and volume was low, it probably took me another couple of months or so get back to where i was at before.

Mean injury! Whole leg turns black and blue! I took bromelane to reduce the bruising, stilll took a long time to get back to normal.. Slow and steady, nothing heavy for a while and you will almost never trust it again. Makes me nervous to this day on the leg press machine.

Go light... higher reps 20, 17, 15, 12, 10. Another thing, I wont go to failure, 1-2 reps short of it.
I've suffered from a hamstring problem and that's what's helped me from hurting it again and helped rehabilitate it as well.
