hernia cure

does anyone cured a hernia without surgery? or live with it without it getting bigger and without pain?

i was diagnosed today with a Inguinal hernia but i just have a sigtly lump no pain at all nothing!

and i dont really want to do surgery for a thing that does not even hurt me...

I had the same, for a good year and a half or so, I finally went in and I ended up getting surgery, probably within two weeks of seeing the doc, MRI, then the Operating room. I probably could have ignored it but the doc said you never know what can happen, if a part of your intestine goes through the wall and the blood supply gets pinched off you can have some serious problems. Always best to get it taken care of. I had it fixed arthroscopically, a bi-lateral repair with two mesh screens, and since it was done with a scope I healed pretty fast. I have not had any further issues with the hernia.

I agree with this totally. If I were you I would have it fixed now. I had an umbilical hernia for about 18 years or so and it didnt cause any health problems. It did grow larger slowly over that time though and i eventually got it fixed when I blew out two more hernias in my groin. If you dont get it fixed and continue to lift hard in the gym it is most certainly going to grow larger over the years. I believe that the inguinal hernias can be more dangerous so I wouldnt fool around with that. I had mine fixed about 1 month after I blew it out. If you dont get it fixed some of the lining inside your abdomen, called the peritoneum, can become stangulated. When it becomes constricted like that the blood supply is cut off and it dies. Then youll get an infection, peritonitis and that can kill.
