HGH and elevated RHR

Gents, I need a little advice or insight on my elevated heart rate. I’ve taken several mild cycles over the past 5 years without issue. This cycle I’m on 400 test cyp / 600 primo per week. I started 4iu/night HGH two months ago and its my first time with HGH. My RHR has gone from 60 to almost 80 and oftentimes during the day my HR is 90-100 while just sitting which is borderline tachycardia. I tried lowering dose to 2iu but same thing. I ceased HGH and after a week it’s back to normal. I still have two months supply of HGH I don’t want to waste and love the effects of it othereise such as reduction of BF and enhanced muscular look. My questions are should I be worried about the heart rate? Is it dangerous? In your opinion should I just scrap the HGh and finish the rest of my cycle? Searching other threads leads me to believe this is not an uncommon side effect but not sure if this is dangerous.

Had the same thing happen to me, not sure if this is the healthiest option but I just kept running it. Rhr returned to normal in 2 to 3 months after that.

I would get some Nebivolol. And if your blood pressure is sitting around 130/80 or higher I would also get some low dose Telmisartan. Both help with bp, rhr and prevent cardiac remodelling by AAS and hgh.

Your rhr is kinda concerning! 90 is not healthy. And no, I wouldnt just sit it out without any medication, thats really the worst advice one can give.

Agreed. Nip it in the bud sooner rather than later. Both nebivolol and telmisartan are excellent.

A higher resting heart rate can be an indicator of heart trouble because the stroke volume has gone down. When stroke volume goes down, the rate has to go up to compensate. Check your BP often. Is it high? Perhaps water retention is making it go up. I do think that side is common for some guys and certainly not healthy. Like the others said, dont keep using it without some kind of intervention.

My initial advice was to go lower dose, but if 2 IU is still doing it then you really cant go any lower. Does the heart rate stay up all day long for 24 hrs, or does it slowly go down hours after injection getting back to a more normal rate before you do your next daily injection? If its mainly high the half of the day after the injection, you might try doing 1 IU 2x per day, every 12 hours.

Personally I wouldnt use anymore, but I had cardiomyopathy and then a heart attack after using. It seems like some guys' bodys cant handle this stuff and its best to just avoid anything with this kind of side effect.

maldorf,

What's the ideal heart rate number for optimal health in your opinion?

After 2 days of 5 iu of generics, my rhr increases 17-20 bpm with zero change to blood pressure. 2 days off and its back to normal. This same thing happened when I was on Adderall which I have ceased using. I'm sure it isn't "good" but it's likely that the increase in water retention is the culprit and it's just something you have to accept if you want to do it. Is it dangerous? I suppose that depends on your general health. A sane dosage is probably safe for longer periods but we've seen a few guys go the "as much as you can afford" route and almost kill themselves doing it. There is a middle ground.

I'm going to try 2 or maybe 3iu sunday and monday to see if the increase in heart rate in lessened with a smaller dose or if its just what happens using GH. It could just be related to impurities. Someone with a lot of experience using pharm grade gh might be able to tell us if it is also happens with the legit stuff.

I think I agree with this. I appreciate other replies as well but I don’t think I want to use a beta blocker or other drug just to compensate for using the GH. I’m disappointed but my health is top priority and while AAS themselves have risks I don’t want to willingly increase them when symptoms persist. Oh and my BP is naturally a lil high usually 130-135/80 and on GH it’s about 150/80.

Did you go straight to 4iu/day or did you taper up?? And how are you measuring your RHR?

I first heard and paid attention to this side effect when @nothuman brought it up a couple years ago, but I’ll admit I was doing things wrong in terms of measuring it... First off I’d be smoking a lot of weed lol which increases heart rate on it’s own, at least initially, but I would smoke a bowl or bong hit every 30 minutes it seems lol.. And I would measure my RHR like while walking around the house or when I just sat down from doing stuff around the house or right after a huge meal (this can also increase heat rate) and my “RHR” would hover around 80-86 sometimes... And I stopped using GH a little bit after that but just for other reasons...

Fast forward to this year when I started again a couple months ago and I don’t have that side effect at all.. I don’t smoke weed anymore but I also measure my RHR when I’ve been sitting for a bit, I also practice lowering it with breathing correctly.. So if I’m walking around the house doing stuff and my HR is at let’s say 80bpm then I sit down for a couple minutes and it quickly does back down to around 66-68, so I know I’m good, When I wake up in the morning I measure blood pressure and RHR and it was constantly around 60-65bpm and 115/75 maybe 120/75 on some days...

I’ve only gone up to 2-3iu per day recently, and all has been fine in this regard in terms of RHR, I also tapered up.. I stared with 1iu for a couple weeks then 2iu (1 morning and 1 pre workout) and then 1.5/1.5 etc..

But before a couple years ago I was using around 4-6iu per day, but I still don’t think it was the GH for me as the people who experience this from what I’ve seen get it from 1iu or 10IU, not much difference.. But I have heard some guys say it goes away after about a week or so and goes back down to normal.. If yours has been this was for months you might want to stop and look at other factors that could be in play like bodyweight and bodyfat, blood pressure, what you’re eating, any other PEDs you’re taking, use of stimulants etc..

Were you doing that as one big injection, or dividing it up into 2 or 3 smaller doses when you were doing 5 IU? I have a feeling doing a series of smaller doses during the day might lessen that side effect some.

maldorf,

What's the ideal heart rate number for optimal health in your opinion?
Well, unless there is something wrong with the heart lower is better. People can suffer from what is called bradycardia, but thats a medical condition. I once read that Chuck Norris had a resting heart rate in the mid 40s. That was back in the late 1980s, read it in muscle and fitness mag. Before all of the Chuck Norris jokes!

If you are exercising hard every week doing bodybuilding, your resting heart rate shouldnt be up in the mid to high 80s when you are just sitting or laying down. Its either related to the PEDs you are using or maybe you are just overweight and unfit. More cardio and a better diet would bring it down in that case. But if a guy is lifting weights hard and doing 30 minutes of cardio a day his resting heart rate shouldnt be in the upper 80s or higher. Something is wrong there.

When I developed cardiomyopathy my resting heart rate crept up to around 105. That was laying in bed each morning after waking up. A definite sign that my heart was not functioning right. An echocardiogram showed my ejection fraction was just about 35%. Normal would be at least 55% up to mid 60s. A really high ef is a sign that something is wrong too.

One injection an hour or two before bed. I can try dividing it up into 2 or 3 doses at some point, probably the first sunday in july to see if it makes a difference. The interesting thing is my heart rate could be 55 or 100 (ive been there for a couple days due to a combination of gh and adderall) and I feel exactly the same. When I go down to trt my rhr is about 47 - 55 just going about my day.

I havent taken gh in months so 5iu is probably too much. Taking it all at once or dividing it up may not make that much of a difference.

Let us know what happens when you divide it up! Im curious to see. Im thinking your RHR may be a bit lower but not a lot. From the sounds of it, you have to be off it completely for 2 days or more for the heart rate to get back to normal. Your RHR while on TRT is great! Wish I had that.

People is so used in our country to advise and recommend use of drugs like if they were candy. Nope, drugs are dangerous, drugs are poison and should be the last option.

Drugs only mask symptoms or force biochemical signals, but the underlying condition that created the chronic symptom is still there and ultimate can potentially kill you, because it was never addressed by the proper professional.

If you are really concerned about your health, I believe the smart thing to do is to stop putting shit in your body, restructure your whole diet by cutting off what you are not supposed to put in your body (gluten, fried foods, overcooked meats, nitrates, etc) plus start putting in your body what you're missing (60 trace minerals, 16 vitamins, 12 amino acids, 2 fatty acids plus at least 200,00 ORAC points of antioxidants and whole diet based on organic non gmo products)

After that go to a specialist MD to study the structure of your heart for any damage or sign of trouble and monitor your vitals for an extended period of time. Keep playing with essential nutrients and if absolutely everything fails and nothing else works, then prescription drugs might be the last option.

Yep, definitely get it down. Either stop using the GH or use an adjunct drug.

Take if from those above and me, FWIW. Youll be glad you got right on top of preventing any further damage.

Finding out I have high bp was a shock (Im lean and do tons of hard cardio and Im mostly on only TRT...so just genetics) But I just wish I had gotten on it faster and maybe I woulnt be on a damned BP med forever now.

Same happens to me but the increase in heart rate is not caused from water retention. This is a very common myth people seem to get wrong a lot. Instead, it's a direct mechanism from HGH.

I use 1.5iu per day and it gave a bump in RHR initially but it lowered over time. It's right under 60 now at bedtime.

I dropped to 3 iu before bed and the increase in rhr was decreased so thats a plus. My issue is that any increase in rhr at bed time means I dont sleep at all. Sunday night i sleep fine but monday and tuesday Im awake until 2 am. It's good to know it has nothing to do with water retention but the issue is still the issue regardless of the "why" although it is important. I will try 2iu on sunday and monday and see if that works. If not, Ill go back to the way I previously was using it which was earlier in the day.

So by it being a direct mechanism of GH do we know if it has any negative effects? Or is it just the body acclimating? What exactly is it??

I have the same problem. Whenever I add even as little at 10mg of MENT per day, it spikes my RHR a lot and makes it harder to sleep.
