home gym equipment

I am interesting in purchasing a peice of cardio equipment and home gym equip. for my house..

I prefer an elliptical but would also consider a bike .. not GYM price (5k range) but reasonable and good for home use..

For weight training I dont know if I should buy a whole home gym or just buy a bench and some good weights and a bar?

id love some 411!!

meaning i dont need a huge 5,000 machine like from the gym but id like a reasonable priced good peice of equipment...

i do belong to a gym, i just like to work out at home sometimes and would like the cardio peice for early AM workouts

my fault, if you're only looking for a treadmill or stationary bike i would try searching the classifieds or Ebay (or anything like that) prolly find a good deal there

Ideas...

As RIV said, check ebay, local classifieds, etc. There are also many used equip businesses on the net.

Look also at local sporting goods places - many have tons of used stuff that is hardly used.

As far as weights, you can't go wrong with a barbell, basic powerrack and an adjustable bench. You can try some of those screw-on adjustable DB's or just buy a few in the range you will use them.
