How does this compare: IFBB N.A. BB Championships

Some of you guys - Phil, Shelby, Dusty, etc probably know this:
How does the IFBB North American Bodybuilding Championships compare the the recently held USA , the Nationals, or Junior Nationals?

Same caliber of competition?

Apparently this is a pro-qualifier and put on by Gary Udit, who does the Master's Nationals. It's going to be Sept. 3rd in Cleveland, OH.

I've been there many times and the quality is pretty much the same.

Agreed. Definitely tough in the LHWs and up. Middles on down are often weak at NAs, just depends on the year. You get freaks coming from Mexico and Canada that you don't see at the other national level shows.

Order of competitiveness in my opinion:
Jr USAs
Jr Nationals
N. Americans
USAs (though sometimes the NAs are tougher.. just depends on the year)
Nationals

wow strong statement, I havent talked to him about that... wonder what he thinks...

it is in reality one step down.. but like stated above you do get to see some others from south america ect who compete.. and they have some good guys also.. but there will still be heavy hitters there..

You'd think that NA's would give out a pro card to each class winner. THAT'S what makes it tough at Nationals. It's damn near the only shot for a bantam thru middle to get a card. It's the only show that gives it out to all class winners... so they go for that show and go for broke.

I mean... NA's is open to NORTH AMERICA.... not just USA. Getting guys in from Canada and Mexico that are hungry to turn pro would be awesome if they pumped this show up and gave out more cards. It would easily beat Nationals and USA's if they wanted it to be that way.


I mean... I'd rather say "I won the North American Championships" to somebody on the street, ya know? Same thing goes for the IFBB World Amateurs. "Yeah, I won a world championship... no big deal".
