how exciting are clean shows?

i haven't posted here in quite a while. i have a big question. what do you guys think about the caliber of competition that is present at natural shows. my wife and i are going through issues with the juice and competing. my problem is, i don't think i can get to where i would love to be naturally, but she is worried about the side effects that come with taking juice. namely just the ones that revolve around my libido and temptation to look at other women. i struggle with these issues. i have been qualified to do national level shows and if i took a step back and did natural level shows i would feel like whats the point???
any help or input would be greatly appreciated!!!

This doesn't answer your question, but I think your wife should come first. If keeping your wife in the number 1 priority slot is important and gear is threatening it, then I think you know what you have to do.

As for the natural shows, it just depends on which ones you go to. There are some shows full of guys that look no different from any enhanced competitors. I think a lot of natural shows are a sham and not so natural.

Well I know here in Jersey the Mid Atlantic is usually one of the biggest shows, best run and also has the largest crowd. It is the only Natural NPC show of there year here. The guys that run it do a fantastic job.

Mike Ashley was one of my favorite bb', and he stated that he was au-natural. I don't know how true that was, but I ran into him at Busch Gardens in Florida, and he still looks healthy and thick. Do a search on Google for them.

of all these tested "natural" athletes who r really without enhancements, and who r? Some shows of individuals know how to get by these tests just like professional athletes and enter not being without some form of "enhancement." My argument has always been how "natural" is BBing? They need to call these shows "Got by the test open" or Drug free... period. Not "natural" Also, in these natural shows who does the guest posing????? Uh huh. Next thing u know their r going to be "Organic shows." I would never tell anyone to use illegal drugs, and I would also advise the person in ur position to know that for every decision u make their is some consequence....u have to be the one to decide if it is worth it.

i dunno what to think of natural shows. so many are infested with cheaters who are too chicken shit to compete in regular comps like npc and are there to beat out great looking competitors who are really natural. some shows are pretty exciting and others are just friggin lame. seems as though i find many more competitors in natural shows who do not have the structure to be a bodybuilder. just think, do you see ugly as sin cross-eyed women with missing teeth competing in beauty contest? sorry i'm harsh but someone has to say it.

just my own personal preference i find natural shows boring. when i go to a show i want to see freaks. like i said that is just my opinion. im not saying that i dont respect the guys that do natural shows. i have all the respect in the world for them cuz they bustin their ass just as hard as anyone else.
second in regards to the wife. best thing to do bro is to get yourself AND her educated. i have benn married for three years to a great woman and she at first wasnt all ok with me using juice but after she got educated and let go of all the rumor bull-shit that she had been fed she was ok with. its a choice you gotta make for yourself. good luck

It's actually kind of dumb to call a show "natural" anyway. I mean isn't Test natural? How natural is taking creatine? Nitric Oxide boosters? It seems like it should be called legal and illegal since that's really the only thing that seperates the two. Here is a pic of a Natural competitor.

want to thank you guys for your input. this is definitely a tough area for me to approach. i love the freakiness and the excitment of the enhanced shows. but it is also getting more difficult to keep things going, how they are. i definitely have to make some choices :-(

The thing that I can't stand about naturals are the attitude.
As a generalisation (of course there are exceptions), people that compete in the natural shows (enhanced or otherwise) are usually the ones that couldn't cut it in the NPC.
I am talking about the smaller shows here. Because in the smaller shows, you do get natural guys that can win their division in the NPC. I've seen it personally. So if you are truly good natural, you should do well in the smaller NPC shows too.
Imagine how pathetic you must be to be on gear and still not win a natural show? You truly would have to give up the sport.

Anyway, their attitudes are the worst. I walk into the audience of a natural show, all I hear behind my back is people saying to their friends 'Look, steroids'. So I turn to the people I am with and I say outloud pointing at the naturals with the big mouths - 'Look, tennis players.'

Big A, i can see your angst toward some of the people at natty shows ..But I assure you not all natural competitors or fans are like that..I can tell you as a natural competitor I have absolutely no animosity towards enhanced guys, nor do i see natural competitors as having higher ideals, i have the same respect for clean guys/enhanced guys...it would be crazy to think like that, every bodybuilder has contemplated AAS use at some point, and many were probably very close to actually using..so its a very fine line to begin with

there are some nattys that have that "holier than thou" attitude, and i think it stems from jealousy, in essence i see bodybuilding competition as a battle within oneself, the only day other people enter the equation is on the day of the competition, therefore it doesnt make any sense to worry about what other people are putting in their bodies..

that being said russmeister, natural competition (whether its legit or not) can be a wonderful and rewarding experience, often times the crowds are small but filled with family members and friends, this makes for a very memorable experience, one that is hard to top..

I think nat competitions....

To me about half of them I have seen are the same damn guys I saw compete in an open class 3 weeks before. You see to some it is just another show. It doesnt matter to them if there are truly natty BB competing in the show..They are there for the trophy and glory. I too had known at least 5 or six guys competing in natural shows geared up. I think it is kind of lame to do that. Just my opinion. Also, if you love your wife and she loves you there has to be a middle road. Im not saying one way or the other. If your eye balling every girl who walks by etc....maybe marriage was the wrong arena for you.. Just an observation. If you truly love her no drug on this earth is going to change that. Now if your saying she is worried about you cheating because of muscle enhancement chemicals then there is a serious problem. Drugs do not make people cheat on each other. Weak will and low self esteem usually are the culprit here. Not every time. I just think a majority of the time. Talk to her about all these issues. She is your life mate there can be no secrets.
