How old are you in your head?

saw a pretty interesting article in The Atlantic about this a month or two ago. Apparently most people that are middle-aged or older mentally feel like they are a couple decades younger

For the first 30 minutes or so after I wake up I feel 59 1/2.........
For the last 30 minutes before I go to bed I feel every bit of my 60. LOL

The rest of the day I'm in my 30's.

In 2011 i went to an ortho. After examining and talking to me he started laughing and told me i was not going to like getting old. So far that is the most accurate diagnosis a Dr. has ever given me.

Priceless….

And just went to my ortho a month ago. My back has been bothering me now and again. Not bad, totally livable. He took one look at my X-rays and said “Oh my God.” I said WTF? (literally), don’t say that I said, thinking he was joking. (Surgeon’s rarely joke.)

So he flips the monitor around to show me the ray. He said see these two places in your lumbar spine, you are bone on bone. With a host of other crap going on. He said if I hadn’t seen you walk in here on your own I would not have belived it.

I am still 50 in my mind.

We all have our own crosses to bear.

No back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I'm still somehow feeling we are somewhere between 2014-2016, not already mid 2024 😁.

As for my age, it is two fold since I stopped Blasting Gear this year. Mentally I feel way sharper, quicker, and like I'm 25 again. In the Gym it is a mixed bag, Strength is still going up, but I just can't lift with high volume and high frequency for months on end, I burn out if I do - no surprise there, AAS enhance strength endurance and recovery, just plain TRT ain't packing the same punch.

On the other hand, Libido really took a hit, like once or twice a week is good enough now lol. Maybe not the worst, more time for important shit 🤣

In my head, probably about 35 ( I am actualy 46). But Just a few years ago I would have said 25, then a couple of things happened in my life that aged me physically as well as mentally.

The cool thing though, I had a 75 year old roommate recently. I asked her this same question a couple of months back, she said in her mind shes about 30 years old. I hope I can say something similar at 75 instead of being crushed by the weight of life.

Im 38 or 39 but i feel like i should still be like 22. It could be that i work with a ton of younger kids and they rub off on me.
You dont know how old you are....?

We grow up and we observe and are taught the standard path in life. When in school we are taught we should go to university then we will get a job and in our 30's we should be having kids and getting married.

Many of us grow up thinking if you are in your 40's you should be settled down and if you haven't something wrong has happened. You shouldn't be doing X, Y and Z. You should be looking at retiring by 60 or so. That's when you will get to relax etc.

My point we live thinking if we do things away from the "norm" you are somehow not acting your age. If you are going out having fun with no major responsibilities in life in your 40's you are must be immature.

I don't really think that way and you only live once so for me I am 40 and in my head I feel 40. I don't feel any notion placed on me by society.

I expected to follow the path many do but it hasn't quite worked out that way. I am 40 and I am single with no kids and no intention to ever marry someone. For many that would mean them giving an answer like "I feel 20 in my head" but that isn't the case for me but I 100% understand if others thought that about me.

its kinda bizarre but every since my early 30s i couldnt keep track of my age. Did i just turn 33 or 34? Am i 36 or 37, am i 38 or 39 now.. i might remember for a few months after a new birthday and then half way through the year its like it resets and i completely forget.
My birth year is january of 1986 and im bad at math so the math just never seemed quick. I usually have to pull up a birthday calculator on google.
