It's never off topic to feel appreciated! Thanks bud.
From what ive seen mere mortals definitely benefit from giving the meat vehicle a bit of a periodic break. Ive noticed since I started taking this approach, lagging body parts have started showing some pop. Can't say for sure that the breaks are what helped but ive done everything from over-train to overeat to undereat etc and the one thing that was the most obvious I just never took seriously.
I used to have stacks of muscular development and you would see a few times a year guys asking "My arms, they suck, what say you jacked bodybuilder guy?" And the answer often times was "Have you tried not destroying your arms?"
Moment I did that I started getting arm development. Turns out you dont need to train arms twice a week with 12 exercises.
Rest advice is a bit trickier due to the fact that resting isnt hardcore, cool, or badass so the advice, when it's there, needs a bit of extrapolation. Rest advice is really a lot like gear advice from what I've noticed.

I just took almost a week off and just love how responsive you are first getting back at it. Incredible pump, mind muscle connection felt new again. I think it's as good for your brain as it is for your body.
