If you had to choose between these two styles of working out, which would you pick, and why?
Option 1) Perform 40 minutes of slow cardio first thing in the morning. Train with weights 75-90 minutes in the afternoon (2 bodyparts in this session).
Option 2) Train one bodypart in the morning for 45 minutes, and perform 20 minutes of slow cardio at the end. Train a second bodypart for 45 minutes at night, and perform 20 minutes of slow cardio at the end of that workout too.
This is essentially the same level of cardio per day (total of 40 minutes), and the same level of gym work in the same day (2 bodyparts, total of 90 minutes). The only difference is in how it is split up. Which would you pick, and why? I'm very interested in the science behind this.
Is there any scientific basis for picking one method, or does to fall to personal preference?
