Hypothetically speaking, if you ate just oatmeal and peanut butter every day

What would your body be lacking?

Interesting question....

However, 1st thing that pops in my head is that you would be missing some ctical minierals & calcium.

rational thought?

Planning on doing some prison time?

You would be missing protein and aminos!! Too many carbs and too much fat!!

Rollie, that's also what I had very good success eating.

With protein powder, plus green veggies.

What would your body be lacking?

I didn't eat the peanut butter....I had fish oil capsules with each of my six meals and had chicken tenders or tuna on a couple of the whole food meals. Most other meals were protien powder....that was mostly because it was handy and it didn't fill up my stomach as much as whole food protein sources.

Lately I've been eating monster cookies...but, hey there is peanutbutter and oatmeal in there. I do have a couple scoops of protein powder mixed with low carb cranberry juice when I eat 20 cookies! [ That's hardcore! lol  ]

I

When I was in my all-time best shape, all I ate was whey shakes, peanut butter, and bananas, and a multi-vit of coarse.

Well if you just ate a jar of PB everyday, youd be exposing yourself to risking Aflatoxin-B poisoning.

Although youd have sufficient caloric intake, and sufficient macronutrients, youd be lacking in fiber, vitamins, minerals, certain enzymes, antioxidants, etc.

Thanks for the responses.
Now if it was organic PB, you wouldn't be in danger of Aflatoxin poisoning.
There is a fair amount of fiber in peanuts, but green veggies would also be included. A multivitamin. Peanuts are high in vitamin E so they are an antioxidant.

The answer to your question is:
It would be missing taste.

I think yes for the aflotoxin if it was organic. They discovered this by trying to increase the protein intake of starving kids in poor countries, and they all got a specific kind of cancer if I remember right.

Your body would be lacking a girlfriend.

Yes you would, its caused by a fungus that grows on nuts.

You still need soluble and insoluble fiber.

A multivitamin. Peanuts are high in vitamin E so they are an antioxidant.

So? There are a host of antioxidants that are not provided in a multivitamin or in PB. Thats why when you read the back of the labels of vitamins, protein powders, etc. it says something about being part of a balanced diet or (in the case of protein powder) to not be used as the sole source of consumption.

If you want to do this, go ahead, but it is very retarded.

kind of sad

not saying I'd do it, but a diet of PB, whey, oatmeal, and green veggies-- along with a multi-vit-- would probably make you healthier than 90 % of Americans
