I was in the gym this morning and there was JAZZ MUSIC blarrrrrrring over the speakers. I could not believe it...this is not a place of tranquilty...it is a place to work hard...hit a YOGA class for that.

Sorry I had to vent...and my headphones would not drown out all of the music.

that's like when we used to train at my college gym one of the students that worked there would play cd's of the school band.....needless to say that didn't go over well.

That is why my discman is a godsend. Nobody (in their right mind) will come to talk to you and bother or disrupt your workouts, AND ya got blood-boiling tunes to listen to while you pump!

one time when i was working @ golds this guy who's probably 40's wanted me to leave it on the oldies station......yeah that lasted about 1 minute.
the best thing is i would go in there at like 1 or 2 in the morning and blast the music and train harder than hell. had some of the best workouts ever.

i believe it the owner of my gym is an older bro and plays jazz on fri nights when hes there. it sounds so freaken wierd in the gym so i know what you mean.

Man, the problem is you cant please everyone! They play all different varieties of music during the day at my work (Ballys).
Most of it sucks to me-I cant stand hip-hop and all that. But in the same way lots of people like that. I usually am pretty good at tuning it out. I dont use headphones because I like the social aspect at the gym-and I dont want to tune that out.

Well I train at a local health club, but they are also owners of 2 WORLDS GYMS and there they play that old fart music.

I remember when i managed a gym, there was this guythat wanted the FAGGOT BOX turned off...finally I told the PASTOR that we had to leave the FAGGOT BOX on...YES a person that speaks for GOD said that all muscians are FAGGOTS. So I cranked some POD one day and he told me to turn it off...I replied, but they are a Christan band. Oh yeah and he is a racist too...first day I met him I was watching MOnday night football...he comes up and asked me if I know what this means(he pinched his lips together then waved his arms infront of him like a safe call in baseball), he then asked do I know what that stands for...I said no...he said too many N's on the field. Now a man of GOD talking like that...it killed me. So I told him no way on the music buy some .79 ear plugs.

Yeah, I'm so over the "oldies" music at my gym from the satellite radio. They've been playing some new stuff like Alicia Keys but that's still not workout music. I guess it's all the suburban soccer moms who have their husbands buy them all personal training sessions in the mornings.

They blasted metal rock once but that lasted about a minute or two before someone complained. :-( It's all about the Sony MP3 player for me now. I want one of those iPod minis though.
