Incomplete Proteins

Anyone here have any or know of any good information on what foods to combine to create complete proteins, hard to find information because people are so brainwashed on the whole complete protein style of dieting.

I THINK... meats have all 9 essential amino acids. with vegetables(beans, nuts) you'll have to combine them to get all aminos.

hey, Bill Pearl was a vegetarian.

Very true. He probably ate a shitload of beans, nuts, tofu, etc. along with carbs to get his protein. If you combine an incomplete protein with another protein source or with carbs, chances are they'll become complete proteins from the other missing aminos that you find in the carbs or other proteins.

Whole eggs and protein powders are the only complete proteins. Meaning they contain all 22 amino acids required to manufracture muscle tissue. Chicken, steak etc dont contain all the 22 aminos so you have to make the rest of aminos from essental aminos to build muscle. So if you ate chicken and stake or tuna and turkey for example that give you complete protein.

RESPECTFULLY

I DONT BELIEVE THAT TO BE TRUE....STEAK IS A COMPLETE PROTEIN, CHICKEN IS A COMPLETE PROTEIN, SO IS CHEESE, TURKEY, SOY/TOFU, MILK, EGGS, TUNA...........ALL COMPLETE PROTEINS. MAYBE YOU MEANT SOMETHING ELSE?

in nutrition complete proteins need ALL 9 essential aminos. it doesn't matter if they lack any non essential proteins. non essential proteins can be produced by the body so we don't need to eat them

eating carbs with an incomplete protein are not going to make up for the missing aminos. you will need to eat another protein that has the amino you didn't get from the first food... there are no aminos in carbs. aminos are protein.

Try QUINOA. It's the only cereal containing all the essential amino acids, making it a perfect food if you're a vegan.

12-15g pro per 100g product. Around 65g carbs and hardly no fat.

Thats what I was saying and if you are building muscle you dont want to be waiting for your body to make aminos. You want them to be there when required to build muscle. So if you combine two different proteins sources the body has more aminos available for muscle growth when they are needed.

soy is a complete vegetable protein, also you can combine beans with rice to form a complete protein (this has been done for thousands of years all over the world). personally, i dont like the complete/incomplete, but rather high quality protein (all 9 essential aminos )vs. low quality protien (<9 essential aminos) but that is just personal preference

ive heard A LOT of good things about quinoa, so check that out, its pretty much a vegetable super food...

actually, Ezekiel 4:9 cereal is also complete and well as ezekiel bread :p

Yes but Ezekiel is a man made product, NOT A NATURAL ONE!!!

And btw it's a blend of several sprouted grains... wheat, barley, millet, soybeans, lentils, etc... so pretty much the same as if you combined them on your own...

So Quinoa wins, period! :p ;)
