It's fine. You just want to keep it cold for long term storage. Even at room temp you will probably get 6 months of good viability with minimal degradation as long as its not exposed to extreme heat or light.

Insulin can be stored up to 28 days at 59 - 86 degrees and still maintain strength.

My ex-girlfriend was a diabetic and I said something about getting her insulin in the fridge and she showed me right on the box something about storing at room temp was fine. Can't remember the exact words but I was shocked as i thought all slin needed to be stored in the fridge. Man she had some nasty mood swings sometimes... lol
