I feel like it might retain muscle mass better than promoting it. Again homeostasis like Dantes thread.

Bboy is a proponent of IF, and he looks phenomenal. But he didn't look like that doing IF. Still a great strategy for longevity, especially if it promotes positive telomere length.

Ya, I didn't mean literally anabolic. But it seems to promote muscle sparing and promotes leaner physique when dieting. Although, she did say the IF group had more muscle mass with no other changes when compared to the other group eating over more time. It seems it tends to make the metabolism more efficient overall.

IF is truly underrated for all the benifits it brings..

It's the guy that gets no credit

The no black coffee part is particularly interesting to me because many do that, including me. She's arguing it triggers enzyme activity and isn't ideal.

I am wondering if that is just a theory that she is stating or if it has been actually measured some how.

Dr. Rhonda Patrick is great - she also has a podcast that goes rather deep into a lot of topics. Can’t say if the stuff talked about is ever right or wrong from studies, but it is interesting to hear. In my opinion, all research needs to be taken with a grain of salt and compared to what experience shows

This intersted me as well but then I thought about giving blood at times for the Dr when they tell you to come in fasted but coffee and water are ok. So is that different?
