I love Magnums approach to dieting and trianing to get lean .I am wondering is ther a trainer with a similar approach to dieting available online .I am wondering if Magnum or someone else could recomend someone as I believe He is no longer training people online? Thanks
 
THats funny you started this thread..I just PM magnum today, to see if he still trains people...I guess you answered my PM...LOL !!!

Magnum is the man!! He uses different methods, different people goals etc.

However, he likes to go with whole eggs, red meat, turkey, chicken and fish. He also uses plenty of green veggies and some omega 3's and some olive oil on salads. In the end the bottimline: You have to cut back on cals (fat).

He also will have his people carb up once a week. Eating 6 meals thru out the day.

This is what I remember. Hope I repped him correctly.

Its a terrific plan and works for everyone.

Too bad he isnt training people anymore, because he's one of the best at doing what he does.

I think he is training a few guys still, just his load is way down...

very very very few people now, hes pretty much "retired". Pretty sure its just down to friends and people close to him now.

Magnum has been training people for over 20 years and needed a break, plus he's trying to get his business ( GBN ) off the ground.

But hes one of the best.

Also, he is very straight forward and honest about all things bodybuilding. He tells you the real deal each and everytime ala Dante style.
 
thats seem the be the same Diet as Palumbo.

A ketogenic one...
 
Its not PALUMBO ...at all !!!

yeah it uses some of the same idea's but dont compare it to Palumbo...

Hi Magnum I have followed the basic outline of your diet as i understand it?{6 days zero carbs/with good fats and one cheat day [usually 3 or 4 cheat meals]I am mking good progress loosing fat and retaining all of muscle .I am also doing liitle cardio and still making great progress. My question is when and if fat loss slows or stops/getting rid of the last little bit of stubborn body fat what are the variables that should be changed with diet /cardio/training .reduce fats ? reduce calories? up cardio? up training intensity ?P.S This is the best diet I have used so far for getting ripped and retaining muscle! I just need someone with a good eye and knowledge to fine tune things. Thanks for your help Magnum.....Paul

I think Magnum and Shelby's diet metholds are totally different...Shelby uses a carb cycle diet, and Magnum is a zero carb diet with good fats, high to moderate protein...

What do you think is best for advance body builder to cycle or not? I mean by that is to cut the gear completely after 10- 12 week on cycle or just lower the doses?

I Think that you kinda answered your own question but I will elaborate. Getting really shredded meaning when you want to get down to that little bit of fat you do have to reduce cAlories. I don't think that training intensity has much to do with it if at all. I also increase cArdio but try to keep it at a minimum. You r correct when u say you will not lose any muscle on this type of diet. I have never had anyone lose any muscle when I diet them down for a show.

I read somewhere you mentioned that the diet Dave Palumbo prescribes is higher in carbs than your method of doing things. Can you elaborate on this? Is it due to the peanut/almond butter, cashews, almonds etc. that are on Dave's plan? If so do you suggest that your clients get their good fats mainly from red meat, yolks, oils etc?.

Carb cycling is not the only approach I use... it depends on the client and the situation.

I'm no Magnum though... :cool:
