Is this a good idea

I often train on an empty stomach, and honestly the workouts are usually great. Because you're not doing two things at the same time (training and digesting food) you're much more focused and mentally alert... no insulin spike, no hypoglycemia (if you're not prone to it), etc...

As long as your glycogen stores (muscles and liver) are ok thanks to previous meals, you should be fine.

And because it will make for a kind of "depletion workout", you will absorb the food you eat after much more efficiently.

I know some will say it's highly catabolic to do it, but training by nature IS catabolic... you just rebuild later in the day :)

All my lifts are better with an empty stomach. I know many say not to do this, but I know my body.

I think when you are working out you want the blood to be pumping into the muscle/s trained and not breaking down food you have in your stomach.

As long as you have eaten the night before You will not be as catabolic as you think. Just be sure you have a solid protein meal with some good carbs following your workout. I do believe it is a good idea to train on what I call a somewhat empty stomach. As my EX Phidias has said (LOL) you will deplete your glycogen and be ready to soak up some serious nutrients after your workout.

THANKS for the replies guys. Its interesting concept just to take a few supps before hand as opposed to chugging down a whole meal. I train at 6am and get up about 5:15

I train at 6am also, i have some 100%MR aminos at 5.30am, sip on some LBA's during my workout, immediatly post workout i have more 100%MR aminos,(6.50am) then when i get to work at 7.30am i have more LBA's in Raw Milk, a little bit of olive oil and a banana, seems to work really well for me.
