we all know proteins are made up of amino acids. so if egg protein powder and whey protein powder had the same amino acid profile and both were absorbed at the same rate. would one still be better then the other?

From what I've heard, whey isolate absorbs the fastest. Even faster than egg protein. Are you sure that whey and egg protein have the same amino profile? Because whey comes from cow milk and egg is egg.

yeah i no but for sake of arguement lets just say they have the same amino profile and BV.

I have no idea what Im talking about here, but I imagine that protein is protein. The difference would be in what carries it and how long it takes the body to break that down to reveal the protein. Kind of like test. test is test, but it takes the body longer to break down the different esters.

Just a thought.

so what ur saying is they would be the same cause this is what im trying to figure out or if one would still be better then the other.

Let's say that they did have the same amino profile and bv. If that's the case then they would both be equally good/effective and I don't see one being better than the other.

Thats my thoughts as well...what seperates protein types is the amino acid profile and bio-availability...if thats the same then I dont see the difference.

yup this is the answer i found out thanx guys.

It depends for what purpose, speed of absorbtion is good for different reasons,if you need a fast way of getting protein(close to a workout for example)-then whey or liquid amino's is the way to go,if you are going to sleep at night then you would need a slower digesting protein.
Now,if your question is about amino profile-it doesnt make sense because ther is no way possible for two different protein sources to have the same amino profile.
