Kexing gh/no water

Need information from anyone who has used chinaman's gh that was shipped without sterile water. Did you heat distilled water in the microwave as he suggests or buy sterile water elsewhere? If you did use distilled water, did it work? I'm hesitant about this as I'm not sure all bacteria would be killed and everything I've read states the only way to non-chemically sterilize water is by using an autoclave or a pressure cooker. Too much of an investment to take an unnecessary risk.
