Knee sleeve for knee pain?

Hey guys, Ive had this on/off issue with my knees for some time now. The pain feels like I have a little pebble stuck under my knee cap and when I bend down 90 degree or more it hurts. I can walk around with no problem at all but as soon as I bend my legs I feel the pain. Every time I go to the gym I some cardio and stretching to warm up, then some leg extensions. So far no pain. When I hit usually machine squats or hack squats thats when I feel the pebble like pain. The upper half of the movement Im ok but when I go down to 90 or more it hurts a lot. Oddly enough I used to get it when I would do squats as well but if I do a set of leg extensions right before a set of squats, then no problem. Also sometimes when I feel the pain, I stop the exercise but if I wait 10-15 mins sometimes I back to 100%. I actually feel if I rub my knees with my hands, massage, between sets in help a little too. Any idea what it could be, tendonitis? It annoys the hell out of me because my legs are my weak point and I always go through these phases of weeks where I just can't do legs. My legs are really not strong so its not like Im doing 400lbs, I don't even do 225 for squats. I do do them ass to grass. Any idea what it could be and how to maybe remove the stress from the knees?

First basic question....have you seen a medical expert, Dr, sports therapist or anything of that nature?

well I have the classic rehband knee sleeves, they help a lot... I have really bad knees.

I also start my leg days with hamstrings, and will only go into a squat movement once both my quads and hamstrings are totally pumped up.

hack squats always hurt my knees no matter how I do them.

other than that, I can't really offer too much input.

I have not, to be honest I don't trust them. Usually they give you anti-inflammatories or tell you something silly like stop training. A sports specialist would be on option.

Yeah Im thinking of doing lots of legs extensions and leg curls to warm them up really good. How do sleeves work, do they remove the stress from the knees? Do you keep them on on all leg exercises?

Mark Bells knee sleeves are phenomenal. Highly recommend them. Also, always start with hamstrings. Made a big difference for me

Could be a tracking issue with the patella tendon. My pain is directly under the knee cap but the problem is with really upstream and more to do with weak hips and a tight IT band. I am getting tool work done to correct this plus specific exercises. I would get an assessment done. It wasn't that I had bad knees, I had "bad movement patterns."

I have knee issues also and I always start with very light extensions to warm up my knees. Since going to sleeves the pain has significantly went down I still feel it at times but as long as I warm up well I don't have much pain. I use knee wraps for heavy squats still but sleeves do a good job at keeping my knees warm

sleeves keep the joint warm and add a decent amount of support. they don't lift the weight for you like wraps are known to do.

and yes, I keep them on throughout my leg workout.

Do you have his wrist wraps too?

they just keep the knees a bit warmer. I use ace wraps on knees , probably more psychological than anything

Knee wraps Too tight can compress your kneecap and hurt it. tight knee wraps acts as a spring under your ass when you squat. used to use them 13-14 years ago when i powerlifted, not anymore, less weight and tendons doing the work

I have used mark bells sling shot and that seemed to help . now i just use elbow wraps that ive had a while, when going heavy , on anything that can effect elbows

Hey guys, the Rehbands are avail in 5mm and 7mm. Is there much of a difference?

This I would check out first prada.

I have a bit of bone in my patella area, had a torn patella fell down the stairs in 2005, reattachment and it healed too fast laying down a lit bit of bony tissue.
knee sleeves only made it worse, went and some tissue work and it's tolerable although surgery is a future option that the ortho is gonna go in and clean it up during a scope.

This is what the physical therapist said my problem was but I feel like it's more then this. Did you get MRI done on your knees? What are they doing for you?

Fish Oils,Glucosamine,Tumeric
Knee Sleeves I like some good Icy Hot on 1st
Stretch more
Foam or Rumble Roller roll it bands thoroughly before lifting
I have less knee pain from lifting or doing leg day in Chucks or flat shoes.
