So as we all have had bad times and good times in our life.

If you could go back and trade one bad thing that happened or you went through. For one extremely good thing you ever went through what would it be.

For me it would have to be.a felony charge I got over 20+years ago.which I was young and dumb and didn't know what I know now. I was innocent but not knowing the state took advantage of me .

I would not trade any of the down times. That is where you learn, grow, and truly find out what you have inside. The difficult times (should) make you appreciate the opportunity life offers right in front of us, IF we can shake the focus on the "bad times" being bad. For example, I was sought an internship with a mental games coach and his final project would be to write a book. I had no desire to be an author, not even a thought. I came up with a brilliant topic, he loved it, a week before I`m due to submit papers to start internship, he tells me, he chose another student. Boy was I heated for 3 days! I have now written half the book so far, on my own, no other names as author. That bad moment went just the way it was supposed to AND made me better. "Bad" is simply a perspective, a point of view.

We have a whole generation of snowflakes that have been coddled all the way through college without ever feeling a moment of discomfort, yet a bad time or rough patch. Now look at them! They need counselling if somebody writes "TRUMP" with sidewalk chalk.

I would be more assertive and less afraid of confrontation to those who work under me at work. I let them get away with too much. its not because im a nice guy because im actually not nice at all. the reason I don't confront them is because I know as soon as one says something smart back to me or challenges me ill lose my shit and hit the wall or say something to them that will get me fired. many times at work people piss me off and I bite my tongue and tell them "I need to go outside and cool down this conversation is over" and I have to walk around the building or find a place to relax. this is the price you pay to be someone who takes pride in their work around incompetent idiots. id love to tell them what I think of them but that will lead to me getting fired and bills got to be paid, so I just show up at work and play nice. frustrates the hell out of me, wish I had the power to fire lazy people. supervising people but not being the one who can actually fire them on the spot and hold them accountable is basically just being their baby sitter.

And I disagree because I dont believe that in order to learn something or gain something is because something bad has to happen for that to come to you

Yes, totally agree, that is a psychological defense that humans invent to endure shit. Some people believe in God, others in karma and that kind of thing, so, the most mental people invented this about of taking positive things out of negative events. But you know that, nobody wants negative events to happen to him.

But you know that, nobody wants negative events to happen to him.

I agree that nobody wants negative shit to happen but life is like the yin and the yang, you can't possibly know what truly good things are unless and until you experience the truly bad. Wether they are accidental or self inflicted is immaterial.
