I am so sick of hearing about bad lighting at shows! I am trying to convince a local promoter in ny here to move a show from a crappy old high school, to a state-of-the-art performance center. I asked the promoter what the price difference was between the high school rental and the Arts center rental. It was just over $2000 difference. Gee.......with $20 for a night show ticket...do you think that 100 more people will show up? It seats around 3500-4000 iirc.
It's like the difference between watching a movie with an old film projector in school vs. going to the IMAXX.
The lighting is WAYYYYY better and so adjustable. The sound system is WAY better, the seats are way better. It just looks so much more professional. It helps the judges too.
This weekend i'm off to a convention center to see some local boys do some damage! I've never sat at a convention center to see anything so who knows what to expect, i've only been to convention centers for car shows and crap like that.
