O/T 4 wheeling

Anyone into off roading? mudding? What do you have for a truck/off road vehicle? I'm working on my vehicle right now putting 37 inch irok tires on it with 7 inch lift...new 10,000 hydraulic winch...front and rear air lockers. As of right now that all I have into it....

fj40!!!

yeah! i was going to get this 74 landcruiser fj40 last year but it ended up selling before i could get down there to check it out. this thing was CHERRY!!! diamond plating, front and rear lockers, 38'' super swampers, soft/hard top, custom stereo system, 5cd changer, 5 point harnesses, power everything including steering, 5 speed, i forget the engine it had put in, but i remember it had something like 450+hp. another one i was looking at was almost exactly the same except had rock crawler suspension, but not as much lift. man i wish i wouldnt have started thinking about this again!LOL

It's a addicting and expensive habit for sure....My next project will be a truck with 49inch irok tires with like a 24-28 inch lift. Have you heard anything on these irok tires? how are they in the snow/mud?

i dont know anyone who has them...baja claws and super swampers rule around here for the most part. what truck are you going to put that lift on?

I'm making my new jeep wrangler as big as possible....I have my new gears that im putting in with a 4 inch suspenion lift and a 3 in body lift. I'm going to gear it pretty lower so I get more power out of the jeep. I'll post pics of the jeep when it's all done. I've never seen the irok's around here and I'm curious to see what they'll look like. I dunno if you know this but big tires on jeeps look ALOT bigger then say if you put them on a regular big truck with a bed to it. I think it has to do with the size of the jeep and how compact they are.

for mud an auto trans is by far the best choice. Locker in the rear and truetrac or simillair in front. A front locker can be difficult to steer in the mud.

what year jeep is it? is it a straight axle? original engine? id love to see those pics when you get it all done!

It has dana 40's ready to be put in I have them sitting right next to me and I have a 350 in it for a engine. It actually fit prefectly into the jeep. I was telling my buddy he was full of it but it fits nicely. I'll post pics in the next couple of weeks when I get the suspension lift and body lift with the tires on. The only thing I hate about jeeps are they're really light in the ass end...I slide in the snow like crazy but this could be alot to do with these bald ass tires I have on it now.....The iroks will weigh about 125 lbs a piece...so that'll make a huge difference.

thats going to be tons of fun to drive! you can go just about anywhere in a jeep that size.LOL looking forward to seeing the pics
