Okay I know this is off topic and all but I dont think this is suitable for any other forum. Here is the deal.

I am 27 , single and doing well financially and I am getting to the point where I want to build my first home. Problem is I really dont care for the area where I live currently and I was wondering if any of the brothers and sisters here at PM have any insight of a great place to live.

I was wanting to build my house someplace in the country yet have the city about 10-20 miles away so when i want city life I can go to the city yet when i want peace and quiet I can be in the country. I was also wanting this country setting to have a lake or some type of water mass near it so I can have my boat and jet ski with me and I dont have to travel veyr far to use them

It just seems that the currentl area I live in is pretty stagnant and I am having a problem finding a place where I feel comfortable, the economy is good, there is a good selection of pretty women, recreation, night life etc. Kinda need a place where I feel like I fit in and I feel like " home ".

I was thinking of Nashville Tennessee or Las Vegas, does anybody have any suggesstions and nice areas to live. NYC, Los angeles are out. Texas is out too becuase the laws there are ridiculous. i dont want to live in these 3 places. Any help would be appreciated.

What state do you live in now? What kind of climate do you want?
arm all year, or do you want all the seasons?

Here's a cool site. Lets you compair variables from one city to another.

If you sniff around enough on the site, it lets you put in variables as to what's important/not important to you, and it gives a list of 25 cities that fit your parameters.

Medford, Oregon. Thats my choice.

well I like Vegas alot. It is the best place in the country for what I do and my job so that is great , the housing market is crashing slightly so in 6-8 months we plan to buy a house, good gyms, seems like there is always something to do depending what you're into. It seems to me like there is alot of opprotunity for people out here. If you need job help I may be able to steer you towards the right person or can find someone who can.

az

Arizona, The whole phoenix metro area has been exploding for the past five years or so. One thing that I love bout AZ is how everything is new and the city is laid out on a grid with very excessible freeway travel so that you can live on the outskirts and still reach just bout any location in the valley within 30 min. Scottsdale has the highest demographics currently but there many outskirts that are great for new builds. I would look into Gilbert Az. to live n build. You have lakes for water activites and mountain views everywhere. Plus we are convieniently located within 5 hours to vegas, LA, San Diego or even mexico. There is much young money here. Due to the fact that it is such a new hot bed. Emphasis on HOT! If you're single, please. There are more women per capita than anywhere else in the US. Good luck

Retirement Community?

Florida gets my vote. If you move close to the south part you have hot spots right there with plenty of ways to party, and you can come home to your seclusion when you're done.

I'm curious to know why NYC is out? You say you're doing well financially, that'd be the best option for you.

Nashville is great if you're into the music scene. Nevada sounds like it'd be perfect for you too. Maybe you should look into that first, Florida second and nashville 3rd.

central florida.... orlando, jacksonville, tallahasseee, gainesville, tampa, ybor city, ft lauderdale, miami, the keys ..... fucking etc etc bahams etc all close as shit

sun and girls.

hey maverick..

Hey maverick...if I recall from your previous posts, you are from close to the same area I recently moved from. Pittsburgh, PA area? Just wanted to let you know...don't count the LA area out. I just moved out here about a month ago. I got burnt out on my old job and the area is so depressed where I was living. Got tired of the same ol' stuff. Decided to take a chance on a great job offer in LA area. So far so good. Only 2 drawbacks are traffic and cost of housing. But there are many positives. Tons to do, see, training atmosphere is great. Weather is unreal. It has not rained yet since I have been here. Sunny and warm everyday with no humidity (it least like what I am used to anyhow)! Plus there are many jobs. Maybe I am still in my honeymoon phase of living here, but for now I love the adventure. Good luck on your search.

AZ without a doubt , Ive seen this entire country and still havent found a more livable city then Scottsdale.

You just can't beat southern california. Or Palm Desert

you need to check out orlando,fl. this place is booming!!!! country and city all at once. tons of lakes parks and beaches. night life is incredible. south beach and the keys are a short drive away. but the one thing that pississ me off is that every sports bar we go to them damm steelers fans dominate, cant watch my dolphins game in peace without a smart remark from them dammmm steelers fans!!!! lol

dude, fuck Florida, I used to live in many different palces and gotta tell you that San Francisco Bay area is the best place in the world to live.

yea if you like other men
shiiiiiiit, there are plenty of hot bitches in here, and not enough straight guys, - it's just so easy to get hooked up.:D

I have been in real estate my whole life so this is my area.

Honestly, it all depends on what price range you are looking at my man and what you are looking to get for that price. If you want a house with some land and have limited funds to spend then vegas and cali are out of the question for sure. You can't touch a house in most parts of cali for under 600k and vegas is not far behind these days. I live in the subburbs of DC and love it, but once again you have to pay to play here. It is quite costly here as well and the traffic blows to say the least. You can still get bargins in areas like Houston, Atlanta and Charlotte if you want the big city life, but the country close by. I know Houston has some great deals. You can get yourself a pretty fat house there for under 300k when that would not eveb get you a condo in Cali. I guess in the end it all depends on what you want and how much you have to spend. Hope this helps.

wheeling, west virginia. lol, seriously. 45 min from pittsburgh, 1 hour from columbus, oh. very low cost of living, scenic. great hunting and fishing, the ohio river for recreation. cant say much for the night life but if your a serious meathead like myself ya never go out anyways, lol. and since eatbig2getbig took off for california i need a new training partner. nothing like the rednecks/imbreds west virginia your thinking, thats further south. god i'm prolly gonna get slammed on this one, lol.

I'm with Lex. I'm been here for almost a year and really like it. Good gyms, great weather. If you can deal with the traffic you'll like it here.
