O/T Music Downloading

I was just wondering what websites most of you are using to download music that is compatible with I-tunes.

Definitely Limewire.. Works great for me, although I have heard of people having problems with it.. I think it's cuz alot of people have it running constantly in the system tray without realizing, whereas I only have it open when I'm downloading something.. Another really good one is demonoid.com for torrents, but that's a little more complicated where you have to run another program with it like bittorrent.. It's great for full albums tho, and also movies, tv shows, and tons of other shit..

Limewire is my favorite, though I've been shying away from downloading off of free sites. I've noticed my computer runs a helluva lot better since then.

Limewire is very dangerous you have no idea what you are downloading, many multimedia files are simply named something popular to trick people into downloading when in reality they are bogus empty, porn or even virus files.

This is just the audio and video files.

If you are going to be downloading then spend 5 minutes and setup a program like uTorrent which will download torrent files for you. Then there are search engines dedicated to tracking the latest releases in all the different categories available. you just download the torrent file and the torrent program does the rest and gets your files. Another good thing is that you can read user comments for almost 95% of all the popular releases to see if anyone had any trouble with the file. Ie. was the movie crappy quality, or did that piece of software pass a virus scan etc etc. and make an educated decision about the download instead of running in blind and hoping for the best.

I wouldn't download songs straight from limewire... too many viruses! I prefer torrents as others have said, it's an easier, safer way to download music. Isohunt.com is my favorite by far. I have thousands of songs downloaded and about a hundred movies too, all from torrents. Plus torrents aren't considered "stealing". It's "file sharing" lol

A few years ago packetnews was the best place to find stuff on IRC. If you can learn to use an IRC program like Mirc it is alot better than any of the bittorent sites IMHO.
