I wanted to see if anyone here had received emails or text messages regarding account info. I received one last night and thought it was strange, especially because I am not an account holder. I went to their website and this is posted on the homepage:
PHISHING ALERT
Phishing messages have been sent to a variety of email addresses and cell phones as text messages, including some actually used by DNB First customers. This is NOT the result of a security breach: the message was sent both to customers and non-customers in hopes to get the customers who receive it to reveal personal information.
The emails and text messages were NOT sent by DNB First. Please DO NOT RESPOND to the email or click on any link within the email. Do not respond to the text messages. Erase them and ignore them. DNB First will never ask you to email or text us personal or account information. Email and texting are NOT secure methods of transmitting personal information.
If you have inadvertently revealed personal information, immediately contact your local Bank branch and inform them of the fact.
Phishing efforts often use real pieces of information interspersed with false ones to trick the recipient.
One version of this false email alert lists our real web site but a false address when you click “To continue, click here”. The false email reads as follows:
********************************** SECURITY WARNING!
Today at 04:28 AM (26/01/2009) , 3 unsucessful login attempts have been made using your Online ID on www.dnb4you.com website.
We have immediatelly suspend your account to avoid any fraudulent activity.
You need to unsuspend your account and to do that we need you to verify yourself as the true owner of the account.
Thank you for your time! To continue click here.

I am just a little concerned that someone I've never heard of has my cellphone #. I have not shared this info with anyone other than my friends and family. Anyone have any thoughts? Maybe I am just paranoid? Thanks.
p.s. mods move this thread to a more appropriate forum if necessary
Edit: Duh! I should have read TF Article better, but someone still has my cellphone number. How would someone running a phishing scam get my number?
