Just curious how many guys are doing cardio in their offseason? I personally like to do 30 minutes on my off days first thing in the morning. I feel like it helps me stay leaner and keeps my appetite up. What are your thioughts? Phil i know you advocate no cardio.
 
What's Phil's reason for advocating no cardio, any idea? Phil, if you check this thread, please sum it up for me....just curious.

I do the same thing - 30 minutes fasted AM cardio on off days.

I dunno i just always see him talk about not doing cardio.
 
I would like to know about this as well if you check this thread phil. I actually like doing cardio still in the am fasted but not high intensity.
 
I'm guessing he controls his clients bodyfat levels by diet manipulation and training frequency. But yeah, I would like to hear it from the man himself.
 
I save the cardio for precontest.
 
The only cardio I woudl support for offseason would be for cardiovascular reason only. However, if someone is having to incorporate cardio during the offseason due to wanting to keep fat off, then maybe his or her diet needs to be re-evaluated

I have to respectfully disagree, I feel doing 3-4 30min EASY cardio sessions a week helps me to keep my work Capacity high and recovery rate much faster. But I am also talking about walking at 3mph for 30min not getting the heart rate too high. I notice when I dont do any walking/easy biking I stay sore much longer and get gassed much earlier in my lifting sessions. just my opinion.
 
50 minutes fasted 6 days a week. I just feel better when I do it. Some days more intense heart rate like 130-140, ohter days look like 115-125 just depends on what my body is telling me...
 
I actually enjoy doing Some HIIT session but i know they can kill some muscle if not careful
