I just accessed my cyber - rights account and found 4 e-mails from a " financial services " operation. Has anyone ever gotten spam on their account? How in the hell did they get my addy?

When was the last time you took part in any survey about financial services? When was the last time you applied to the bank for any kind of services? Do you have credit cards? See where I'm going with this. We no longer have any real privacy. You MUST work hard at being Invisible. The junk mail you got was prolly an automated Program from a few clever finacial Institutions. It only goes to show that we are vulnerable wherever electronic information is being shared. Just change your Cyber rights a/c. I would not get to jittery over it but beware, the walls have ears!!!
They more than likely didn't get your email address from something you did. They simply have a name generator that just sends out emails to known domain names. Once they see that there is no NDR (non delivery report) that came from the address, they add it to their known good address book which is where your address is right now.
